Guest guest
I have tried Dr. Zhang's artemesia and Allergy Research Group's artemisinin. I used Dr. Zhang's successfully for 6 months, but am now getting bladder challenges with it. I've recently tried Allergy Research Group's but am have dosing problems finding the right amount. I either don't kill or way overkill with too much pro-oxidative stress. Has anyone had success with other brands? What is your favorite? Guest guest
Would you share what the bladder problems are. I have tried both and prefer the Zhang as I am getting less ear pain. I have only been on Zhang a month. On Dr. Schaller's suggestion I do one week on and one off using cryptolepsis on the off week. Guest guest
I use the Pure Encapsulations brand. It is standardized. Two questions if I may: Wondering what type of bladder challenges. I didn't know that was a possible side effect, and I've had some changes. Also, how do you know you are getting pro-oxidative stress--it's interesting to me that you can monitor this. I've been taking this stuff almost a year, and I'm pretty sure the Babs is still there. Guest guest
I think babs is still in me too. Didn't mean to lead you to believe otherwise. However I also feel I damage brain tissue. From 1-2 hours after I take art, I get a die off rxn. Then not much happens (did they reincyst? the dose decreases below killing level?). Then about 3-4 hours after dose, my brain tissues get very sensitive. It feels like being hit by extra bullets like Dr. Schaller describes in his Babesia book when discussing pro-oxidative stress of artemesia. > > > Also, how do you know you are getting pro-oxidative stress--it's interesting > to me that you can monitor this. Guest guest
I have Interstitial Cystitis so I already have bladder issues. I have Dr. Zhang's Artemisiae but am now afraid to try, has anyone else tried with IC? What brands are bladder friendly if you have IC? > > > > > > Also, how do you know you are getting pro-oxidative stress--it's interesting > > to me that you can monitor this. Guest guest
IC is the one thing DMSO is FDA approved for. Guest guest
As far as artemisia goes, there are two plants, artemisia annua and artemisia absinthium, and the annua is far less toxic to the system. I have read on other Lyme groups that artemisia annua taken along with GSE, (grapefruit seed extract), and cod liver oil can effectively keep the pleomorphic spirochetes such as borrelia and bartonella at bay. The GSE works to dissolve the biofilms surrounding stage 3 spiros, the artemisia annua kills the exposed spiros, and the cod liver oil holds both in the blood stream longer so they can attack the spiros more effeciently. NutriBiotic, the maker of GSE, has a wonderful capsule, High Potency Capsules Plus, which contains 125 mg grapefruit seed extract, 200 mg artemisia annua, and 200 mg echinacea angustifolia root -- a capsule seemingly made to order for spirochetal infestations. My daughter has neuroborreliosis and bartonella, and I have been giving her the GSE capsules and cod liver oil capsules (Carlson's Super 1000 mg) for close to a year, and she has tolerated them without side effects. She is 17, and weighs around 135, so I give her one GSE capsule and one cod liver oil capsule in her morning handful of supplements, and her symptoms are all but alleviated. When she misses two dosages in a row, her symptoms return, especially the long stretch marks with bright red tips that are the " handiwork " of bartonella spiros. Those are just my observations, and I'm far from being an expert on remedies, so take my opinions for what they're worth. I had to find something to keep her out of the hospital, and after two courses of doxycycline, we finally figured out that she was highly sensitive to it and having severe cerebral hypertension, a common side effect, which causes bone crushing headaches, swelling of the brain and facial tissues, dizziness, dyslexia, and vision problems. No more of THAT poison for her!! Another thing I've noticed is an increase in neurological symptoms during a full moon and a new moon. I've heard that parasites and mycoplasmas go through reproductive cycles, and this seems to correlate with the phases of the moon. Sure enough, Katelynn will have swelling, itching, and chills when one of the cycles hits, and I increase her GSE capsule dosage to 2 in the morning during that time. I also give her Black Seed Oil capsules, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. They are known as the " cure for everything but death " in the cultures that hold black cumin seeds and the oil as remedies from the gods. I take them, and so does my husband, and all of us have kept the flu at bay when everyone else we know gets it. So that's what experience I have with artemisia, along with the other herbs and oils I mentioned. Hope that helps someone to decide whether or not to take any of the above. Guest guest
In addition to artemesinin (Holly) I use Boneset, grapefruit seed extract (by Nutribiotics) and 2 prescription meds, roxithromycin and Mepron. There is no evidence to support grapefruit seed extract for babesia, but I'm using for Lyme and it seems to hit me really hard, and I feel like babs is getting better as well. > > I have tried Dr. Zhang's artemesia and Allergy Research Group's artemisinin. Guest guest
Just because something is approved for something doesn't mean it's really a good treatment option. I've met more people that it's hurt more than it's helped. Plus it only takes away the pain temporarily, it really doesn't fix. Anyone have good suggestions for Artemesia? > > IC is the one thing DMSO is FDA approved for.
