Guest guest
Yes, Jnanda, I always felt astragalus was seen as 'devil' but in fact, it can be extremely helpful. I do think it's the main herb for me in this last lyme revival. Now lyme is gone again, but I still have bits of fungi and it is still helping . It's a warming herb, I believe. I'm mixing it with stephania, I dropped knotweed (because it tests 'no-no' for the moment) and the taste is very good (in water). I am starting to be convinced astragalus may help bartonella very well, but of course, this is just based on my last experience with bart. I had tested for astragalus on and off during these last years fighting lyme. Thanks for your insight on St. 's Wort. I guess you're right about it being different in homeopathy and in herb (like ledum, I assume). Both never test for long periods, and the herb, specially, tests for short periods, but in acute phases of infection. I, on the contrary, do believe on its antibiotic-like effect as I have seen it acting on my cat, husband and daughter (and myself, of course) too many times to believe it a coincidence. Husband last week got only a day of it, a cold was starting, it just cut the cold down to zero. But as you said, it must be have something too strong in it (stimulant) as it never tests for more than a few days for all of us here. I believe I got rid of my heart pain due to rickettsiosis basically due to St. 's wort in capsules (I guess it's half herb/ half extract). I say, basically, because I was on other stuff too, so who knows what did what? But when I stopped testing for St. 's Wort, so had my heart pain stopped never (so far) to return. My cat got rid of his mycoplasma basically with the homeopathic Hypericum taken 3x week or so, for a few weeks. He's so far, the one at home that took this plant (in any form) for longer!! It's true that whole herb tested only once or twice, then nevermore! Funny you talk about Echinacea. It also tested good for me for very short term (about 2-3 weeks) then NEVER MORE!! I keep asking, but the answer is categorically NO. But now even Eleuthero is testing categorically NO for months... Thanks for sharing your knowledge on Ayurvedic medicine!!! I'm really wonder about this Ashwaganda, as I'm looking for long term support for my immune system. I guess astragalus and ashwaganda could be a good choice? Eleuthero might be too strong for me too, as it keeps testing NO (forbidden to take) for such a long time... Both Ledum and Hypericum homeopathic did test good for me here and then, but like once a week, then again in month, then never more (in low doses). I don't believe that people will get very clear responses from these homeopathics, as it's necessary to work on the dosages/ ramping up, giving proper intervals in intake etc. And what one feels as improvement is not 'clear' as with herbs, so it's difficult to 'calibrate' homeopathics without muscle tests, in my opinion.... Thanks for your view on cold/ hot herbs, Jnanda. I think the Ayurvedic view can help us to calibrate hot/cold so that we don't chill like hell!! I did chill so much with andrographis! I rarely suffer from flem or brochial problems (except for babesia problem), and still I herxed from the lungs (meaning, I could get air hunger without any flem, or just feel pressure on my chest).... As for cardamon, I love this stuff. Warming, soft, and good tasting thing to add everywhere. Another low cost product and effective, in my opinion, is propolis tincture. It's a difficult thing to 'calibrate' too, but for the ones doing energetic tests, it's a wonderful supplement for all ages and many infectious problems! Also mild sometimes, if taken in right proportions, and at the same time, helping our immune system. I do the tincture at home and it is one of the things my house never misses. Even my cat takes it here and then. Before I knew how to muscle test myself, I found it a difficult supplement to 'measure' though. As from a day to another, one may need lots of it, suddenly zero... But it constantly tests good in low quantities. Do you use propolis too Jnanda? Selma
