Guest guest
Hi , I have been taking diflucan for 4 months off and on. I was having severe symptoms of electricity in my body, rapid heartbeat(that would not go away), adrenaline rushes, severe insomnia. I was having yeast problems so I started taking the diflucan for one week and it was amazing my symptoms went from being unbearable to 80 percent better. As soon as I went off of it they would rush right back. I know it is helping the lyme. I don't think it kills the lyme but it suppresses it. So, it is not a cure but rather a temporary way to feel better. I am taking liver support and have not had any problems. I read a book on yeast and some people have taken it for years with no problems. It is worth a shot. Google Schardt protocol and there will be an interview with this doctor. He explains why it works. Hope this helps. You can also call me if you want. 541-419-0895. Blessings, _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of lunagirl32002 Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2007 10:14 AM Subject: [ ] Diflucan for Lyme? Hi all, The latest question on the Buhner column on Planet Thrive is mine and it is about using Diflucan to treat Lyme as well as systemic yeast/mold: http://tinyurl. <http://tinyurl.com/ysppu4> com/ysppu4 Does anyone have anything to contribute to this? I have heard warnings about damaging the liver with Diflucan, and I have also heard success stories ('it was the only thing that helped me'). My doctor prescribed a 10 day treatment and feels it will be ok and not harm my liver at that dose. My main purpose for considering it was to treat systemic mold/yeast but when I saw it has helped some with Lyme, it added to the reasons to take it, Would love to hear others' experiences. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your email. I actually link to the Schardt info in the Buhner column I referenced. That is amazing that it helped you so much. I am still really nervous to take it considering how milk thistle affected me and we are all so different. I am going to discuss it with my new doctor and decide what to do. Would you mind telling me how often you take it and what dose you are taking? Thanks!! > > Hi , > > I have been taking diflucan for 4 months off and on. Guest guest
, I'm other one who takes Diflucan (fluconazole) regularly. It's the only thing that prevents yeast infections for me (I take doxy). And I, too, have noticed that I feel a lot better after I've taken Diflucan after not taking it for a long time. I'm currently taking it daily for an indefinite period because I'm taking doxy for an indefinite period. My doctor tests my liver enzymes (I think that's the test) on a regular basis. Oh, I take 200 mg a day. Guest guest
Hi , Yes, It is amazing that it helps me so much. I was to a point where I wanted to commit suicide. I actually started to make a plan. I just couldn’t handle feeling like my heart was going 100 miles an hour for months on end. I remember my mom would just rub my back while I balled my eyes out praying to god for some sleep. Even if I got 5 hours a night I was so happy. I remember telling God, if this is all I get(5 hours) I will be happy. I wanted to make a deal. If I don’t take it I get so bad after about 3 days. I have taken antibiotics and let me tell you they made me herx bad but diflucan doesn’t actually kill the lyme it just blocks it from reproducing I believe. So, I think Schardts theory is that if you take it for 50 days they can’t reproduce, then you hit it with antibiotics and kill what is there. Then do it for 3 rounds. I don’t like taking the diflucan but I will tell you that it is better than wanting to take my life. I could die next year so why not make my time here on earth comfortable. I take 200 mg once at night and I am 5’7 and 105 lbs. I am very little and it does not affect me in a bad way. It will make you herx maybe a little but not anything like antibiotics. I do understand how you feel about taking it though. You can call me if you ever need to 541-419-0895. Blessings, Also I take unda 243 and 45 for liver support. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of lunagirl32002 Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2007 12:25 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Diflucan for Lyme? I couldn't finish the full 30 because of thrush. In any event, joint/ muscular issues, energy issues, etc. worsened(maybe herxing, but so what). babeosis symptoms like air hunger persisted and in the main I was not improved. btw, Dr. schardt cautions mixing diflucan with a tetracycline like doxy and prefers a penicillin derivative. I have emailed him on several occasions for further clarifications but have never received a reply. I am on hiatus but am considering a 2nd go round which is indicated for some on the protocol. I have just started taking some artimisinin after taking nothing for a week and after 1 day on it I'm in less pain so I think I'll stay just on this for a few weeks to see what develops as I suspect that babesia might be my main adversary. best mikey > > >
Guest guest
Hi Mikey, Hmmm, that's interesting. Sorry it didn't help you so far. I wonder what would happen if I just used the Diflucan with no antibiotics and the Buhner protocol instead...If the spirochetes are made weaker by Diflucan then the herbs and a bolstered immune system might be able to then finish off the Lyme, no? I don't know if the Diflucan protocol applies to Babesia. From what I read it was just borrelia. Do you know if Schardt specifies which bacteria would be affected? Thanks! > > Hi julie > I just finished a 1st round of the schardt protocol which calls for > diflucan for 50 days followed by an antibiotic like clarythromycin for > 30 days. Guest guest
Never mind my question re diflucan. I found the answer in the link below. sorry. sometimes miss things. ellen > > > > Hi all, > > The latest question on the Buhner column on Planet Thrive is mine and > > it is about using Diflucan to treat Lyme as well as systemic > > yeast/mold: http://tinyurl.com/ysppu4 > > >
Guest guest
Hi julie as far as I understand, the diflucan affects the cell wall structure of BB, making it susceptible to the killing(?) properties of the antibiotic, a sort of one-two punch. I don't know how the buhner herbals claim to work but I see no problem in your theory of trying them in place of the abx. I would not take them together though. as in schardt, I would take them sequentially. I have read reports regarding the symptoms of candeosis and have noted the similarities to ones reported by lymies plus copathogens. maybe positive reports from folk on diflucan really are the benefits derived from its ability to remedy candida and not on its ability countering lyme??? I think you are correct regarding schardt and babesia , etc. and that is why I tried to contact him for elaboration. I also tried to contact the interviewer, jill neimark, to see if she had had any follow-up. Both efforts were unsuccessful. his protocol had been sort of described in an interview from '03 and I was hoping that current feedback would be highly illuminating for us in the States. I'm wondering if there is a german lyme group who we might network with to see if we could find out further info if new data exists?? best mikey > > > > Hi julie > > I just finished a 1st round of the schardt protocol which calls for > > diflucan for 50 days followed by an antibiotic like clarythromycin for > > 30 days. >
Guest guest
Mikey. It is disappointing you've not received email repsonse from Schardt or interviewer. Please keep us posted on your progress. Schardt does indicate some need several rounds. His protocol looks interesting to me, but I'd like to learn more and talk to some of his success story/patients. I was told my an old amish herbalist healer I had candida . I did his cleanse and it was definitely having an effect on my symptoms, but did not resolve them. (also not sure how candida causes optic nerve damage/neuropathy which i have in one eye). I also notice a connection with sugar and my some of my symptoms over the years..so this therapy looks very interesting to me. > > > > > > Hi all, > > > The latest question on the Buhner column on Planet Thrive is mine and > > > it is about using Diflucan to treat Lyme as well as systemic > > > yeast/mold: http://tinyurl.com/ysppu4 > > > > > > Does anyone have anything to contribute to this? Guest guest
Hi Mikey, I am currently taking diflucan and it is amazing how much better I am. I would say I go from 20% to 70%. At 70% I don't feel like I could go running but I can get up clean the whole house, work, take care of my 2 year old, cook, laundry. To me that is really good. It is so nice. If I go off of it for 3 days I start to get really bad again. It is weird that it works that well but as soon as I go off of it, I go down fast. I have read about candida and I know that they do have some of the same symptoms but I had never taken antibiotics and I had these symptoms before I went on the antibiotics and also when I did antibiotics the symptoms would get better so if it was candida then being on antibiotics would probably make it worse. I am excited to hear if you get a response from Schardt or Jill. I know that I can't take diflucan forever but I do know that it is there if I need it. My holistic doctor doesn't like me taking it but he says that finding something that makes such a dramatic difference is a good thing. He said just finding something that helps out so much is great because some people just can't find something that works. Hope this helps.
