I know Jerry. I wonder where everyone is. I hope they are out enjoying a beautiful day. I have been watching the Blue Devils return. There were lots of welcome home parties. I bet the "heels" were not there. LOL

I thought it was just me, sometimes my husband gets in here and deletes

things that he shouldn't LOL. Anyway, I'm hoping that everyone is feeling

good and enjoying some nice weather for a change.

hello,

I am new to the site, I guess my first message didn't go through for some reason.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience (good or bad) with mlk thistle they could tell me about.

my GI will not say it is good but he will not say it is bad either.he just says that they are not trained to use herbal remedies for treatment.

Rosemary, you say you've been watching the Blue Devils on a wonderful day.

Yesterday I went to the beach (all wrapped up against a fierce wind) and watched what I believe was the Blue Angels.

Hi Jerry,

I'm sorry you feel so lonely. I'll keep you company in cyber world LOL.

Nothing much is happening here. Tommy had a doctor appointment yesterday,

but we didn't find anything new. He has a blood test scheduled for next

Wednesday. They are finding a lot of " borderline abnormalities " so are now

testing him for other things as well (he currently has a history of kidney

stones and AIH). I'm hoping they don't find anything else. My cousin was

just admitted to the hospital. They don't know what is wrong with her, an

infection of some kind. She has had diabetes since she was 6.

How is your mother doing? How are you doing? What do you do for relaxation

besides help us? Since everyone is leaving town, Chicago, Florida, etc.

maybe we can have a group discussion about nothing. Hey it worked for

Seinfeld. I take it being so quiet as good news. Maybe everyone is finally

starting to feel well. Nice chatting with you.

Hi Jerry,

I thought it was just me too, but I have been in the process of installing a

new server...BTW, I had to re-register with groups and that is where I

saw how to retrieve archives and noted that the posts in April have been

minimal...hope it means the Spring air outside is too enticing to miss!!

New email: dagelo@...

You're never alone, Jerry!!!!!

God bless,

Hi Jerry,

I was at the beach most of last week, and had well over 100 e-mails

to catch up on from then. Maybe everyone was just tired out from

those.

Went to the beach with my sister-in-law and our girls, (12, 11, and

9). Spent 4 days doing nothing but sleep, sit on the beach, and eat

way too much. It worked out well for her - I was the designated

driver by default.

Hopefully everyone else is not on-line for some similar fun reason.

Debbie.... sounds like Tommy`s doing fairly well . I hope nothing else

is wrong

and I`ll keep him in my prayers.

Mom is doing OK I guess. She is quite tired anymore...she used to be so

active..

My sister is coming home for a month and my 1st wife is coming back from

Fla. soon..when they get here she will have more to do...besides it`s

spring and baseball is here... she loves the Cleve. Indians... mabye all

that and warm weathher will perk her up. she had some pictures and a CT

today because she`s complaining of back pain. She might be too old for

angioplasty and/or another bypass. Thanks for your prayers.

Mostly what I do is play poker 4 or 5 times a week with some other old

ex-drunks. ($4-$5 limit.. it helps keep me in cigars)

I go to a AA meeting about every night and fllrt with the women.. sadly

to say thats about all I can do. (but I`m good at it. :) ) Every once in

a while i take a small job if I feel I can do it without getting too

exhausted .... I`m an electrical contractor.

Other than that I spend a lot of time researching things on the `net. I

can`t wait till summer.... our condo is right across the street from the

pool and I Love the sun .. I get killer tans and try to forget about the

possibility of skin cancer. I also love TV .. never saw it much when I

was working. I used to be much more active in AA as far as serving as an

officer of one sort or another or working on commitees.

I still speak quite often. other than that I

find myself sleepng a lot cause I Iire easily. Are you sorry you asked?

I never saw Seinfeld much when he was on but thanks to re-runs I`ve seen

them all 3 times at least.

Now if this doesn`t qualify for talking about nothing.. I don`t know

what will.

I`ll say hello to Newman for you. :)

take care of Tommy

Thanks for asking, Jerry. Actually, I kind of hate to admit it with

all of the problems everyone else is having, but I feel great. About

2-1/2 weeks ago lowered my Prednisone from 12.5 to 10 with absolutely

no side effects, and all my numbers are still normal. I feel very

fortunate that since being diagnosed last August, my numbers have

consistently dropped and never once gone back up. No tiredness, no

itching, no real pain.

My biggest problem now is spring allergies - I think that the higher

doses of prednisone kept me from having problems last fall and

earlier this year, but I'm not really going to complain. Will just

take my Claritin and live with it (like I always do - I live in a

valley which is just a pollen trap).

The weirdest thing too - I was never really hungry on the Prednisone,

but since going to 10 mg have been starving! Seems kind of backwards

to me.

Take Care,

Gerry... Never sorry I asked. Gives you more personality instead of just

the " liver guru " . It sounds like you keep yourself pretty busy getting a

tan, playing poker, smoking cigars and flirting with women. Who said having

a liver transplant stops you from having fun?! If you become the poster

child, people will be lining up asking for a transplant LOL.

I'm sure your Mom will continue to improve. Changing your lifestyle is the

biggest obstacle. I'm still learning how to deal with it. Prozac is helping

me from not flipping out. Talk about a mood leveler...

Hi Jerry,

You are not alone...I've been so busy with school, work and doctors appointments that I can hardly stay focused on anything else. I would much rather be reading all my e-mails...Unfortunately for me, now I have over 250 to read and my eyes are beginning to get sore : ( HEHE!

I did have some good news. My LFT's are actually normal!!! I guess this lovely medicine is really working!!! I am so happy. My blurred vision is slowly getting better too. Now I am just on the verge of getting a cold. I am trying to fight it, hopefully I will win this battle too! I've got to stay positive!

Well, I'm gonna let you go so I can read the rest of my e-mails.

Have a great weekend!

I was told by my optometrist that the blurred vision is a side-effect

of prednisone. I have it too.

  • 3 years later...

, that other paperwork you may be taking about is called the "Power of Attorney" here in Australia. It basically gives someone the power to make legal decisions on your behalf. That and a will mostly has nothing whatsoever to do with your health care wishes. You need to have a heart to heart with your primary doctor and your liver specialist and make sure they note in your records your specific wishes regarding your hospital/health care.

I've just had to deal with all these issues over the last year but remember, my knowledge is based on Australia and Australian law.

But let me reassure you, you're doing the right thing having all your affairs in order. When Daryl was on life support last year, there was a real chance he would die intestate (no will) and honestly, it would have been a real nightmare.

Please everyone, make sure you have a legal and binding will and specify exactly what you want. Believe me, it saves an enormous amount of heartache after you're gone.

Good luck

Hi Gang

Here is a touchy subject

I have to go to the notary to have my will

done and also the paper for when we can no

longer decide for ourselves when we are sick

brain fog I can't remember what it is called

what I was wondering is can we specify to what

degree of non resuscitation we want. I am stage 4

PBC and I have AIH and it is only a matter till I will

qualify for a tx my meld score is only 12 so it is too early

but I want to be prepared. If anyone has any experience in

this please let me know. I don't want to be resuscitated if there

is no hope but I don't want them to pull the plug for nothing either (hee, hee) my executor is my brother and I don't want to tempt him. LOL

Hi ,

When I was aware of the severity of my disease, and I am a widow, I had my attorney attach a note that " I have an end-stage condition, defined by Section 765.101(4)....However, nothwithstanding the foregoing, if I have a liver condition which is terminal, but a liver transplant can be effectuated with reasonable medical probability of recovery, I direct life prolong procedures be administered".

This is a scary , but necessary part of our life's work to have this paperwork completed. My husband died with no will and my children and I got nothing (long story).

Ask you for more questions if you wish and good luck.

As would I!

I have a large section on my free lyme resource CD about the Marshal

protocol. Pros and cons from people. See the folder:

\1 - Lyme_Resources\Treatments\Marshal Protocol

I would be happy to add more information as folks want to share.
