State health authorities are asking people in northern and western Maine to send them any ticks they find, so researchers can track the spread of the type of tick that carries Lyme disease. The Maine Medical Center Research Institute, working in partnership with the Maine Center for Disease Control, says it's looking to gather more information about the spread of the disease in Aroostook, Pascataquis, Penobscot, Somerset, lin and Oxford counties.
