Hello,

I am new to Lyme treatment. I have read lots on the internet (scary!) and now I

am totally confused.

I have had extreme fatigue, burning in my soles and feet, tingling / pain in my

feet and morning stiffness in my hands and feet for 2.5 years. It all started

right after the birth of my 2nd child. The doctors are stumped and I have been

to all of them!

Since they have found nothing else and I have had a postive elisa and a

suggestive western blot (bands 23 & 41) for Lyme (although not CDC positive) my

MD wants to treat me for Lyme. She gave me 2 months worth of doxycycline. I have

not started these yet.

I have not been to an LLMD yet as it is so expensive and I am confused about

which route to go - seems like there are lots of different opinions. I know that

I will probably need to go this route once my antibiotics run out to get more.

For now, I really feel drawn to the Buhner protocol because I can get started on

my own, use it with or without my antibotics, it seems reasonably priced

(compared to other treatments) and not excessive amounts of supplements...and

natural of course!

Can you please share your success stories with me? I would love to hear if it is

working (or not working) for you. I need some encouragement to get started.

Also, any advice you might have about starting on the supplements - ie one at a

time, go slowing, start before or after antibiotics??? I plan to order the book

I just haven't gotten around to that yet.

Thanks!

Hi Rose,

I only started treatment about six months ago, so I'm not the best person to

answer your questions. But, here's my " two cents " . First it sounds like most of

your symptoms are Bartonella symptoms so you may want to start treating for that

from the start. Some doctors feel that you need to treat Babesia and Bartonella

first before treating Lyme. Second, there is so much to learn and so many

systems in your body that needs support I would find it hard to do this on my

own. I highly recommend you find a doctor in your area that specializes in the

treatment of Lyme. Where do you live maybe someone here know a doctor in your

area. Third, I took about a months worth of antibiotics. The first two weeks

made a huge improvement for me, but after that there was no benefit. Herbs,

hormones, amino acids, vitamins and minerals have helped so much more. But, the

progress is very slow and you'll have herx (you may need to look this up)

responses while you heal. I'm not just taking Buhner herbs, but many of his

herbs have helped me a lot.

Good luck, just keep breathing. There's a lot of support here.

Hugs,

Connie

Rose,

You might look into whether you have co-infections as well. Burning in soles of

feet is a classic Bartonella symptom.
