We just keep praying for those biochemists! yes, I think the 36 hours is a good bet, but only applies to a very 'typical' situation with with (adult?) deer tick / Bb ss, feeding on mice or cattle, and probably only in a certain time of the year etc. Nobody knows for sure what the value is in other situations. This is not really a subject for biochemists to study, more something for microbiologists or medical investigators (e.g. infectious disease specialist). IMHO the biochemistry of Lyme is pretty solid nowadays, there is lot of good info. But most of this info is very detailed/specialised, we don't know what it means in real life. We need the microbiologists and especially people from the medical field to take LD serious, and this is not happening yet (although maybe in the US the microbiologists do a better job that those in Europe?). We are now dealing with this again in Netherlands: under pressure our CDC is now springing into action, but they are going to do all the wrong research (again) and apparently none of the research that is required. There is too much money and politics involved
