Guest guest
" I have been suffering with a chronic cough from what seems to be post nasal drip for over a year now. I have not found anything to help. Does anyone have that problem and/or know any recommendations? All info is greatly appreciated. " Kim you may have already tried this, but I started using a neti pot about 7 years ago. My chronic sinus and upper respiratory infections are now relatively under control. Have you tried this? You can even use herbal teas (at room temperature!) such as golden seal to get some antimicrobials in there if you have an active infection, but I think even just the flushign with salt water goes a looooong way. - Jen
Guest guest
You might try colloidal silver. Empty and clean a nasal spray bottle, rinsing with distilled water. Fill with the CS. Some people add a tiny amount of DMSO which helps penetrate the tissues. Deb > > > " I have been suffering with a chronic cough from what seems to be post nasal drip for over a year now. Guest guest
Hi Kim - apologies for taking an age to response - I was wondering re: your question on chronic cough & post-nasal drip whether you drink milk at all? The reason I ask is that when I explained to my doc I had this awful catarrh balled up in my throat & was blocking me from breathing she said it was stress & to breathe into a paper bag! I then mentioned it to my acupuncturist & she immediately said it was probably milk & bananas which are both mucous- producing. After giving up milk I found that it loosened up so I could cough up the gunk each morning and within a few weeks I was breathing much better. A month later I was totally clear from any congestion. Occasionally I do get a tickly cough from time to time & if I forget & eat something milky/creamy such as ice cream or custard then the gunk comes back again overnight! There was a post today from care2.com about the problems with milk which may be interesting.. Milk According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), eight food groups are responsible for 90 percent of food allergies. Cow's milk is one of them. Symptoms of milk allergy can include hives, vomiting, difficulty breathing, chronic ear and sinus infections, skin rashes, postnasal drip, chronic cough, abdominal cramping, and diarrhea. Not only is milk one of the most common allergens, it's also the source of one of the most common food intolerances. An estimated 70 percent of people worldwide are lactose intolerant, meaning they lack an enzyme known as lactase, which is necessary for digesting the lactose in milk. Symptoms of lactose intolerance include bloating, cramping, nausea, gas, and diarrhea. Nonorganic milk may also contain hormone, pesticide, and antibiotic residues, which can contribute to all sorts of health problems. And consider this: Countries with the highest rates of dairy consumption also have much higher rates of heart disease and cancer. Finally, there's considerable research that suggests that dairy consumption is linked to an increased risk of both prostate and ovarian cancer. http://www.care2.com/greenliving/are-these-whole-foods-making-you-sick.html All the best, > > Hi, > I was diagnosed with probable MS over 20 years ago and then 2 years ago found out through igenx test that I have Lyme disease - not sure if the MS was really Lyme. I have been suffering with a chronic cough from what seems to be post nasal drip for over a year now. I have not found anything to help. Does anyone have that problem and/or know any recommendations?
