Guest guest
Dear Annette, Both of your ideas could be right. The spleen is often affected by AIH because of the flow of blood in the liver decreases, it increases the pressure on the spleen (if I remember it all correctly!) But many people have GI problems and nausea associated with liver disease, too due to a variety of factors. It's probably good to check with the doc for your particular case. Recently I've been taking the Body Restoration Technique treatments meant to reset my immune system and clear out reactions to endocrine disruptors like pesticindes, antibiotics and hormones. Since I started the treatments, I've noticed more spleen pain than previously. So, I'm thinking it's waking up my immune system and perhaps cleansing the spleen. in LA

Guest guest
Hi: Can you tell me what the symtoms are, location of pain and how you know that it is the spleen? TIA Hugs and hopes, abhi
Guest guest
I'm guessing you're asking me; I don't know for sure it's the spleen but it's almost like a cramping/contraction feeling on my left side under the rib cage. > > Hi: > > Can you tell me what the symtoms are, location of pain and how you know > that it is the spleen? > > TIA > > Hugs and hopes, > abhi >
Guest guest
the LDN shouldn't cause any pain. Ativan and most benzodiazepines decrease stage 4 sleep. (although they help you relax and fall asleep) The only 2 that increase stage 4 sleep are clonazepam and alprazolam. they also should not be taken for sleep unless you know you do not have sleep apnea or are treating your apnea with CPAP or BiPAP. maybe do a liver cleanse to try and flush stones if you have them. ~dory From: Aurora <aurora@...> Subject: [ ] Spleen pain Date: Friday, December 10, 2010, 5:04 AM  Hi folks-- I've been having bad pain in my spleen and gallbladder. I've been taking Red Root tincture (fresh plant) and Itires and doing various other detox things, but it's recently gotten much worse. I'm also not being able to sleep and the only thing that has worked so far is the highly addictive Ativan I keep for seizure emergencies. All the other sleep stuff that usually works is doing nothing (valerian, skullcap, PS100, Clams Forte, melatonin, tryptophan...) I'm trying to figure out if this pain is a flare up to be weathered or something to go get checked. Any suggestions for spleen support? I did just start low dose naltrxone for leg pain, but this kind of pain isn't listed as a side effect. Could I be detoxing too fast? Guest guest
I think you could be detoxing too fast. Maybe try stopping whatever " bug killers' you're taking for 2 days and see what happens. This helps me when I get too much spleen pain. And if that doesn't seem to help then you could take the next step of getting it checked out. Connie [ ] Spleen pain Hi folks-- I've been having bad pain in my spleen and gallbladder. Guest guest
Hi, I have struggled with major sleep problems for many years. I have been told the alprazolam and clonazepam do interfere with stage 3 and 4 sleep but they are the only meds that seem to help me sleep and then feel less pain the next day. Could you let me know what your source is for the information about those meds and stage 4 sleep? thanks very much, Beth From: liesesue@... Guest guest
Re: spleen-- I'm not currently taking any bug-killers, just doing cleansing of various kinds in preparation. I can try backing off and see if it helps. My LLMD wants me to take actigall to improve bile flow. Seems to have a lot of side effects, but I'm going to give it a try, I think. The Ativan was only a desperate one-night attempt to catch up. As an epileptic i can't afford long term sleep deprivation. Sleep meds generally leave me feeling disconnected and unrested. Melatonin hasn't been working lately. My doc offered to prescribe trazodone, but I'm reluctant. My liver is a slow detoxer and I tend to have unusual reactions to many drugs. I don't like anti-depressants, and have spent 3 years trying to get off lamictal (for epilepsy but also prescribed for bipolar) because the withdrawal symptoms are so horrendous. Ambien knocks me out at bedtime but I wake up after 4 hours and the quality of sleep is weird. I have sleep apnea and use a C-PAP machine, but my problem is getting to sleep, not so much maintaining sleep.
