Injectable magnesium is so very cheap.

Aurora, thanks for posting your list of supplements that you've found helpful

for muscles spasms.

I have had debilitating muscle spasms - the worst and most chronic are in my

back - from neck to pelvis, but sometimes also legs and feet. Have suffered with

this for about 17 years. I will def give everything you listed a try. I have

taken lots of magnesium, which no longer seems to make much difference. My heart

evidently spasmed about 1 1/2 years ago, landed me in the hospital after having

to get off a taxying airplane in Portland with what appeared to be a heart

attack....had all 'classic' symptoms...but no evidence that it was typical

MI.....but my cardiologist believes it went into spasm and could have killed me.

All electrolytes were bottomed out at time, and I know Calcium, Magnesium and

Potassium are all important for heart.....

When I am totally locked up (like tetany), I have to go on 10mg Valium 4x/day

(total 40mg day)for several months, then gradually decrease by 2mg per day for

about 19 days to get off - until the next time. It doesnt even make me sleepy

anymore, I have had to do this so many times.

I did have IV push Magnesium (mega doses) along with typical Myer's Cocktail at

my LLMD's office a few times and it did work amazingly - kicked my butt for a

couple of days, but then I felt so good! Problem is it doesnt last and is VERY

expensive. Not to mention that my LLMD is in Seattle and I live in Georgia.....

Again, thanks for posting.

Peace, Terri

my legs and feet, but I've had them in my hands, back, throat and sides as well.

I've had to return to using a wheelchair (post-stroke I used one for two years

and had stopped) because the spasm can catch me far from home and leave me

stranded.

dealing with this, too. Taking magnesium, strangely enough, seems to make it

worse. I've tried many forms and dosages including cream, homeopathic, IV ,

powders as well as various pills. (After the IV I had cramps for two days.) I

take cofactors like B6 and taurine, but they don't seem to help with the

magnesium issue at all.

potencies help at different times-- there's often a lot of burning and tingling

with the cramp. This one is often very effective.

The Babesia heart symptoms I have were so bad they sent me to the hospital four

times. (At the time I didn't know I had Lyme) I was there for a total of 11 days

and they tested my heart extensively. And said it looked fine. Muscle spasms

seems like a reasonable cause for what I experience. I suspect swelling as well.

I'm so much better than I was in March and April. But, I still need to take

something when it gets really bad. Sometimes a shot of will do the trick,

but when it's really bad I take Dilaudid (which is like Morphine, only not

addictive). At first I was taking it around the clock, now I only take 2 or 3

pills a month!

This is one of the things that scares me. I've had spasms in my throat and

chest, and sometimes it feels like I'm going to choke. I'm concerned about heart

spasm

<<I have to go on 10mg Valium 4x/day>>

I've been thinking about having a muscle relaxant on hand, but I have a

paradoxical response to Valium-- sends me into rages.

I don't remember if I put this on the list but lemon balm tincture also helps me

sometimes.

Does your doc have an explanation for the spasms?
