Guest guest
: You fail to tell us HOW much of the Devil's Claw you took each day. Also WHAT ELSE were you taking with it? Did you take it WITH your meals? MY VISION gets worse IF I stop it also. BUT I just take it again, and always with my meals and not too late at night. ALSO are you taking Red Root tincture, Milk THistle AND Sarsaparilla WITH IT? THESE are VERY important, so you don't herx bad. I had to try and immediately get my vision as strong as possible so I would know how to judge the glasses. My vision definitely improved in a day, but the herxing was awful. I was so sick: fevers, chills, inablility to think/function. I had to stop. Unfortunately, my tummy wouldn't take the devil's claw after a few days. I have to be able to care for myself and be well enough to leave the house and drive a few times a week. I don't post much, because of neurologic difficulties with typing, but I try to read your posts and I appreciate your help. Any suggestions? --------------------------------- Fussy? Opinionated? Guest guest
Hi , I am exactly where you are at. My vision is horrible. I just bought new glasses and have had to adjust to not seeing as well, everything is blurry. I'm confined to my home and I used to read about three books a week and it has been a hassle. The herxing for me lasted about three or four days but I took a lot of things to help it. I used Sarsaparilla, Red Root 3x a day and Milk Thistle 3x a day. I believe those three did a lot to help relieve the herxing and eliminate the toxins from my body. I would not be doing this without the Red Root and Milk Thistle especially. As far as the eye sight, I know Bilberry is supposed to help that a great deal but I can't take it so I can't tell you if it works or not. Good luck. Guest guest
In re vision isue: I bought Biopure stephania tincture. When I got it for $25 plus shipping, and realized it was 3-4 days worth, I only took it for a day or two. I knew I couldn't afford to do that. I didn't notice a difference. Then I bought a pound of 1st Chinese stephania powder, and root to tincture (plus other herbs). I started on devil's claw half cap with breakfast and dinner. and I also took Biopure stephania tincture (90 drops,1 teaspoon, 3x/day) with food. I was trying to do anything that would help so I would know whether to return expensive glasses. My vision was easier within a day, and I didn't know which herb or both to credit for help. I also noticed painful Raynaud's syndrom alleviated while on these 2 herbs. Unfortunately, my tummy gave out on even 1/2 cap of devil's claw (with breakfast and dinner) within a few days. When I ran out of stephania tincture in 2 days, I started on stephania caps, one with each meal. Within a day or two, I was super sick. I don't know if caps were different than tincture, or if I had just increased or reached an effective accumulation within body. When I stopped stephania/devil's claw, my vision not only went back to where it was before, but it got worse than before. Those darn kooties! I've been trying to get my lymph system unclogged with red root tincture 20 drops 1-3X/day (depending on how much my glands are swollen--I didn't realize it helps liver also), and I also use small amounts of smilax 2/5 of cap with breakfast and lunch (I herxed really bad on this and had to cut back), teasel (1 cap with meals 3X/day), vincamine (10mg with meals 3X/day), and normal doses of hawthorne (one cap with breakfast and dinner), and knotweed (2 Source Natural tabs with meals 3X/day). I also take Enzymatic Therapy milk thistle 2 caps 2X/day. When I stabilize, I hope to try devil's claw or stephania again in smaller amounts. I will also increase red root and smilax next so I tolerate the other. Is there a big difference in results of stephania powder vs. tincture? Also, I need to reorder smilax. Sara said only to get concentrate as regular powder was too powdery to encapsulate without much trouble. What do you think? THANKS for coaching me! This is helping me more than most other things, and it sure costs less. -- In , " R. Bayliss " <jbbigrod@...> wrote: > > : > > You fail to tell us HOW much of the Devil's Claw you took each day. Guest guest
, Thanks for sharing your experience. I do need to up smilax and red root. I'm glad the herxing stopped for you after a few days, because I have to be able to think. I kinda' need my brain. Did you herx on smilax? I did major, so I cut back to 2/5ths of cap with breakfast and lunch. I have been afraid to go up again. I'll go up on red root first, then add another smilax 2/5ths of a cap. Then I'll try the devil's claw if tummy is happy, or small amount of stephania. Bilberry is expensive, but I may try that also. I have to be able to read to keep doing research like talking to you all so that I can get well. Thank you to all of you for helping me through this nightmare. -- In , " dellarana " <dellarana@...> wrote: > > Hi , > > I am exactly where you are at. My vision is horrible. Guest guest
Hi , With the Smilax I didn't feel anything right away as far as herxing goes but after three weeks I did. I felt exhausted and had a hard time moving. Everything ached. That lasted 2-3 days and then I was better than before. I think each time it clears out more of this stuff and helps you so I stay with it. Just go slow. I built up what I could and stayed low on what bothered me the most. I had the most trouble with Cat's Claw and took 2 weeks to go from 1 pill to 2 but it seems ok now. Glad to help. If you need more info, Jim was the guru I asked about everything. He knows all of it. I'll help all I can but if I don't answer your question, go to Jim. I found he always knew. > > , > > Thanks for sharing your experience. I do need to up smilax and red > root. Guest guest
, IF you are STILL having trouble with your stomach, please try the C-Salts from Nutrition Wholesale, (nutri.com), it helped me tremendously with my stomach issues and the pain I was suffering. NONE of the herbs helped me with THAT problem. Also, IF you can take Devil's Claw at all, take just the MORNING dose. WITH your meal. I mean DURING your meal, not before or after. Do you drink SKIM milk? I find that also helps me take medication, especially abx. BUT I can't take the abx WITH the meal. It must be an hour before or after, but WITH skim milk. AND I can only take Amoxicillin for about two weeks this way. BUT IF you have ULCERS, you should NOT take Devil's Claw at all. At least NOT till you can get rid of them.
