Guest guest
I just read the book Detoxify or Die and your post below about sensitivity to estrogen made me think of one supplement mentioned in the book, called Indolplex. According to the author, Sherry MD, she recommends this. Has anyone tried it? Per the manufacturer (Tyler): Tyler Indolplex A unique bioavalable formula of diindolylmethane, DIM, and indole phytonutrient found in cruciferous vegetables shown to shift the balance of estradiol and estrone promoting hormonal health - 60 caps INDOLPLEX® Bioavailable Diindolymethane Indolplex contains diindolylmethane (DIM), a naturally occurring phytochemical found in cruciferous vegetables. The patented form of DIM in Indolplex is 10 times more potent than its precursor, indole-3-carbinole (I3C).†I3C is highly unstable and has no biologic activity until it is converted to DIM. Conversion of I3C takes place in the stomach and requires an appropriately acidic environment. In contrast to I3C, DIM is highly stable, requires no conversion in the stomach, and is the most active cruciferous phytonutrient in promoting beneficial estrogen metabolism.†The role of DIM in the body is to support healthy estrogen metabolism and hormonal balance, two factors known to prevent estrogen dominance. Caused by surges in estrogen and deficiencies in progesterone, estrogen dominance frequently appears during a woman’s reproductive years, the many years of perimenopause, and the onset of menopause. deb > > I have endometriosis along with my 20+ years of Lyme (I think they are > linked). Guest guest
Jen...i have endometriosis also. I had many surgeries. I've communicated with several Lyme patients with that issue. I think it's very possible they are connected. I think that Buhner said on Planet Thrive that KW is not bad for endo...however if someone is concerned they should take Stephania. I've been taking KW for several months, not sure if it's effecting the endo??? > > > > I have endometriosis along with my 20+ years of Lyme (I think they are > > linked). Guest guest
I took DIM for several years after my lumpectomy for DCIS (pathological breast cells - precursor to breast cancer, estrogen receptive). It is available as a supplement by itself. I got it at Beyond A Century as a powder, very inexpensive, but I'm sure its available in other forms from other providers. jo > > > > I have endometriosis along with my 20+ years of Lyme (I think they are > > linked). Guest guest
Thanks for the response. I took an herb a while back and I think it's sole purpose was to be a phytoestrogen so that's probably why it was so bad... the ob/gyn meant well but was SO not well! My endo is bad but the pain is not the bad part.. it creates tons of scar tissue and ovarian cysts. My last endoscopy was really extensive (led to my daughter) and it was strangling my appendix and had ruined one fallopian tube. I definitely think it's related to the Lyme. I take a horrible pill continuously (can't think of the name right now) to control heavy bleeding and spotting all month... Fibroids are suspected but I don't want surgery. I've heard of the supplement people are mentioning and will consider that once I get the protocol going. I think I'll just go ahead with the KW. Thanks, Jen On 11/4/2010 12:27 PM, laceyinbh wrote: > > Jen...i have endometriosis also. I had many surgeries. I've > communicated with several Lyme patients with that issue. Guest guest
Have you ever tried bio-identical progesterone. I believe it's suppose to help with endometriosis. I had it when I was young and ended up with a hysterectomy. I don't know if we even had progesterone cream back then. But, I know it really helps me now. Guest guest
Another thought I had this morning as I was reading your post. Is excess estrogen the problem (I never had endo and at this advanced age, 66, I've forgotten a lot about younger women's issues. But if excess estrogen is the problem, calicum-d-glucarate can help. It attaches to estrogen and escorts it out of the body. I used it at the end of menopause. Without it I would have continued to menstruate well into mid 50's. As it was I stopped at 54, and that was with the help of calcium-d-glucarate. Best of luck, jo > > > > Jen...i have endometriosis also. I had many surgeries. Guest guest
Hi Connie... Yes, I tried the bioidentical progesterone but I was still a disaster. I was hoping that would be enough but I had to go ahead with the prescription... I'm just so estrogen dominant it's ridiculous. It's hard not to wish for menopause but I know there are negatives in anything. I just need to heal my system and get things in balance!! Guest guest
Jo... That's very interesting!! I will definitely check that out. Thank you so much for sharing. Too much estrogen is definitely the problem. Jen Lymie parents, 5yo Lymie/Aspie On 11/7/2010 1:15 PM, judyjo27 wrote: > > Another thought I had this morning as I was reading your post. Guest guest
- I'm sorry bio-identical progesterone isn't working. I've been lucky to be able to use some otc and some extra-strength prescription stuff. the prescription stuff is a HUGE help. Re: [ ] Re: Knotweed and Estrogenic Properties Hi Connie... So far not much indication of a problem. The pill I use has same dangers though and I'd love to stop taking it eventually! Jen
Guest guest
Jen, ichinese has the whole knotweed herb as well as milk thistle and dandelion used for detoxing. They also have the pill trays for making your own capsules. I ran out and that's what I will be doing this weekend! _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 2010 12:41 PM Subject: [ ] Knotweed and Estrogenic Properties I have endometriosis along with my 20+ years of Lyme (I think they are linked).
