Guest guest
> I curious if anyone on here has explored the idea that it maybe a co-infection causing the majority of the issues... I mean beyond stuff like Babesia, something like a parasite or what I'm currently looking at B. Hominis... yes, I would not exclude the possibility that most lyme symptoms are actually symptoms from coinfection (unknown micro-organisms or viruses) or maybe something completely different like a broken immune system due to chemical poisoning, radiation etc. In all the real science about Borrelia burgdorferi (and there is LOTS of that nowadays) there is nothing that convinces me that this bug is very dangerous, evil (like most people say ...). All the talk about Bb neurotoxins etc. is just that, talk - NOTHING proven. Yes, Bb shuts down parts of the immune system, but many bugs do that. Yes, it has advanced genetics and communication abilities, and it is extremely good at avoiding the immune system en staying inside the host (it has to, it cannot survive outside a host organism!). But does that explain all the lyme problems? Judging from the statistics it would be possible that Bb, just like the XMRV that is now discussed for CFS, is just an opportunistic infection for people with a weak/damaged immune system. Why do some people have very severe symptoms, while others with the same infection (and sometimes even higher load) are healthy? Why do humans get so ill from Bb (sometimes ...) while most other mammals are hardly effected? We don't have the answers, at least not yet.
