Guest guest
Yarrow, So beautifully said and so helpful to me today with my right eye nearly swollen shut (a new symptom). Thank you so much. Connie [ ] Re: Any and all comforting support welcome! Dear .... Yes, many people with lyme disease and related infections deal with anxiety....I think it does help to remember that the infections are effecting the nervous system, and that the energetic discomfort isn't " you " . I find when the anxiety gets flared, bringing attention to the breath, to this moment helps a lot. There are a myriad of resources on line to help with anxiety. Meditation, mindfulness practices, restful yoga postures....as well as simple mind/body techniques such as TAT, etc. I find meditation to be extremely helpful, and lying down is fine if the body is too weak or in too much pain to sit up. One of the things that I've noticed about anxiety is that when it starts spinning the mind can go into some imaginary future (which actually does not exist) and then the spinning can get really overwhelming. So just here, this moment, this breath. This cup of tea, this step. This softening in the belly. Here, now. There is a place for dealing with managing the illness....and my experience is that learning to relate to (rather than from) the anxiety is the best place to begin. That way treatment choices and decisions can be made from a place of clarity. Peace and ease, yarrow
