Guest guest
The Funds4LymeVictims site http://www.pledgepage.org/funds4lymevictims/ is up and running. As of today there is about $3000 of known need and $400 of ability to meet that need. Go to the site to read the story of one lyme victim. Please pledge. These people need your help. Guest guest
Hi Liz have you contacted the Lyme support groups I emailed and posted for you? theyd be better able to direct funds and get more money to those in need- They have the experience and ability to make sure they need the help too. I was a state director for a large women's group and I know from personal experience that many who ask for help may not need it as much as others. Unfortunately we have to try to make hard decisions about who really needs financial help and how to allot it. Its important when asking for donations that there is a way set up to insure the need, make sure the monies go to that need etc. (I once raised funds for a handicapped equipped vehicle for a family only to hand them the money and they built an inground swimming pool their handicapped child couldnt even use!!!) The website youve linked to doesnt have that ability to do all the necessary verifications and money tracking and they dont check out the charities they register like they used to!! That makes many feel reluctant to donate!! Youre doing great work helping others, and sometimes you have to realize its better to have accountability when money is being passed along, and those support groups are better equipped to do that good luck and I know those groups can help you!
