Guest guest
Hi, I was diagnosed Easter this year in Sligo. Was supposed to have surgery within three months but due to a mix up didn't get appointment until October - i really didn't want any surgery during the summer so didn't contact them to see what was happening. Contacted my docs secretary in Sep and she made the appointment for first week in October. Unfortunately during surgery they hit what they thought was a vein (it was actually part of the brain that had been exposed due to the c-toma) and due to excessive bleeding, had to stop. My doc in Sligo made the appointment for me in Dublin and i was waiting for about a month. Went in a few days before surgery for tests - had a ct scan and an angiogram. Surgery lasted just under 5 hours. Docs were brilliant there and very nice to deal with - explained everything fully. After a couple more check ups i'll be transferred back to my doc in Sligo (which i don't mind cause he has a very good rep and is a very nice guy too). If you're not happy change. Tell me if you want the docs name - don't hesitate to ask me more questions. Good luck and i hope you can make some progress. Keep asking questions here - you will always get answers. ann. pmay82 <pmay82@...> wrote: Hi Ann,I live in Dublin, and go to college not far from Beaumont. I'm being treated in St. 's Hospital at the moment. I am going to go to my doctor with some questions as to why the c-toma has not been removed and if the answers are unsatisfactory I think I'll be left with no option but to go to another ENT department. You seem very happy with your treatment in Beaumont, anf beaumont would be my obvious preference after 's. How long were you waiting for your initial appointment there? Guest guest
I've got an appointment to see my doctor on the 19th so I'll be asking lots of questions as to what his plans are with my c-toma and why he feels its a good idea to leave it be. If i'm not happy, I think i'll have no choice but to be referred to someone else. It would be most useful if i could have your doctor's name. Thanks. As for the blurred vision, it wasnt so bad yesterday but it was pretty bad again today, at one stage it was making me feel nauseous. I've got a pounding headache too just above my temple, which I'm guessing can't be good.
Guest guest
Hi again, I have a check up on the 19th as well. Docs name is Mr. Rory McConn-Walsh. I've never had the blurred vision but definitely the head aches. But i've never found any doc that would say that the head aches were a direct result of the c-toma. But since i've had the c-toma removed, I've only had a couple of head aches but not the mind numbing ones i used to get. Good luck for the 19th. ann.pmay82 <pmay82@...> wrote: I've got an appointment to see my doctor on the 19th so I'll be asking lots of questions as to what his plans are with my c-toma and why he feels its a good idea to leave it be. Guest guest
i think so!!! i have the oddest eye symptoms, just like you described. My right eye, then left eye, then clear and normal. My chiro says neck!!! drives me crazy, just crazy. Because no mateer what kind of vision a person has, it ususally stays that way. mine changes by the hour.i just found out that the nerves that control the eyes come up thru the neck, the atlas and axis.In my case i have bead reverse curve. And those nerves send messages to the eyes and the eye muscles. I also have a jaw thing, and sometimes that messes with the vision.cindy > > Lately, I have been having blurred vision in my right eye. Guest guest
Hi , Yep, it's good to know that we understand each other. When I tell my doctors stuff like this they just say " go have your eyes checked " . I've already done that, nothing wrong there. In fact, since I wrote the message a few hours ago, my vision has cleared up. Bobby > > > > Lately, I have been having blurred vision in my right eye. Guest guest
Hi Bobby, A bad neck can cause headaches (I get headaches from painful facet joints in upper neck) and headaches can cause blurred vision. In general, the eyes are controlled by cranial nerves that come out of the base of the brain and do not go into the spinal cord but directly to the muscles around and in the eyes. However, the pupillary reflex (control of size of pupil and thus how much light gets into eye) is also controlled by some nerves going into the spinal cord from the upper back and upper neck, so there might be some issues with cervical stenosis. An ophthalmologist would be able to sort that out. Rochelle
Guest guest
I had vision that was somewhat blurry and that could not be corrected with any lens at my last doctor's appointment. Very scary! My eye doctor recommended that I use special moisturizing drops for several weeks, and, though my prescription is now much stronger than a year ago, he was able to correct my vision. I'm not sure if this was at all connected to Lyme or just to overwork of the eyes (sometimes for 48+ straight hours at a computer), but I am thrilled at the improvement. Something to consider if it might be helpful for you. Best, Robyn Anybody here have/had a bad case of blurred vision and cured it? > > It's my most annoying symptom and I sort of judge my success around it. > > >

Guest guest
Hello - I have also had the bad vision problems. Do you know what points your acupuncturist was working on? I am hoping to start up with an acupuncturist later this month. Thanks! in VT
