Randy, not sure where I had my tests done, but during a bad herx, I had

blood tests done by a regular doc and he was freaked out that my liver

enzymes were so high.

Not much he could do about it tho,

Polymorphisms are variations in the gene-- some percentage of the population

has the less efficient form of each gene. I happen to have 9 of them. The

test was done by Genova Diagnostcs, which you can find online. The report

they sent with the results was very thorough. For each polymorphism they

detailed what things I couldn't process well, what the likely effects of

this would be and some suggestions for offsetting it.

and I take a lot of milk thistle and other liver support herbs, as well as a

lot of anti-oxidants. With conventional medicine I definitely take smaller

doses since they stay in my system much longer.

To clarify-- the test I'm talking abut has nothing to do with liver enzyme

levels. It's a genetic test that looks at variations in the genes that control

different liver enzymes. You need to have a doc order it and who can do so

varies by state. Mine was ordered by a naturopath in Vermont.
