Guest guest
Isis, I am new to this too and the people on this site are so wonderful. They have answered so many questions for me. I have made some lotions, creams, soaps, and bath salts, scrubs, etc. now and I would be happy to help you in any way I can. Though I am not an expert like many of the people here the things I have made so far have all worked out great and I am loving this new hobby. If you would like me to help you, please feel free to e-mail me privately and I will share some of the easy recipes I have tried so far with you. Good luck and welcome, Vicki
Guest guest
Sweetheart, if you want to try soap, here's the easiest way to start. Go to a craft store like 's, buy a box of Melt and Pour soap and some cute soap molds. You may want to try some soap fragrance oils, they are in the same section as the Melt and Pour (M & P). Then all you have to do is cut up as much of the soap as you want to try, put it in a Pyrex measuring cup (that's what I use, since it works well in the microwave and you can pour right into the molds) and start out with about 30 seconds, then 15-20 second intervals after that until soap is melted. Remove from microwave, put in anywhere from 5-30 drops of fragrance oil (depending on how strong you want it to smell) and pour carefully into your molds. Let them cool for about an hour, pop them in the freezer for about 10 minutes, and then they will pop right out of the molds. WOOHOO, you have made soap!! They have different colored M & P, and colored chips you can melt in with it, glitter, powders, all kinds of things you can put in it. They also have " embeds " , which are little things you can embed into your bars of soap, once you get the hang of it. I usually just go to Dollar General or Wal-Mart and find the little toy dinosaurs or cars or beads or something like that and embed them for kids soaps. Go for it, honey, you'll have SO much fun and it's very easy!! Let me know how it turns out! Please.... ....Can someone please take me under their wing and walk me through making something? I get very overwhelmed with so much information on lists or on webpages and need some help. I'd like to first figure out one thing I want to try, then do it and ask a few questions and then be able to tell you I did it! I don't know why certain things are hard for me, but this one is. I think I want to make an easy type of soap or bath bomb type thing or lip balm. If you're willing to give me a bit of personal help, I would so appreciate it, you can write me offline. Guest guest
PLEASE would you shorten the text from an email you are replying to. It is very hard to follow with brain fog and receiving emails in digest. Thank you
