Guest guest
I started Teasel about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I didn't have the response you did, but I do believe I'm herxing a bit from it. It hasn't helped my knees yet. But, I think it's too soon to tell. I'm up to 4 drops. Maybe you should try something else. It may not be right for you. Connie Blaze [ ] Teasel I started teasel this week to try to help my painful knees that are stopping me sleeping on my side [even with a cushion in between]. Luckily, I started with one drop and am not yet progressing because almost immediately I felt thick malaise drift over me and have been a zombie ever since, though have continued with one drop a day. I have been off antibiotics for a year, but have been taking Allergie-Immun [German] therapy. What have other people noticed with teasel [dipsacus sylvestris/fullonum]? Does this reaction improve over time? Any teasel experience welcome! Carolyn
Guest guest
Dear Carolyn, I would like to encourage you to continue with the teasel if it feels right for you, and to not think of quantities as " progressing " or " not progressing " . One drop is your dose in the moment, and that may be different from someone else's dose. Wolf Storl's book, " Healing Lyme Disease Naturally " has been tremendously inspiring for me. I'm also on very low dose teasel (muscle testing helps me determine the dose: some days one or two or even three drops, some days none). Unless you feel it isn't your medicine, i'd encourage you to give it a few months before making any decisions as to whether it's helping or not. Wood, who wrote the intro to Wolf Storl's book is a wonderful herbalist and he generally recommends very low doses of tinctures (such as one or two drops.) Other herbalists suggest much higher doses. I'm doing what i can to not " take score " as i take some buhner herbs as well as teasel and other herbs/supplements. It seems for me to be right to give the herbs a chance, along with the immune system kicking in. Guest guest
teasel was the first thing my naturopathic llmd along with smilax and they both helped tremendously and i am still on both of them now altho i added samento. teasel made me herx with my cognative function and anxiety but yes i would say after about 2 weeks it calmed down for me and hasn't been an issue since. one thing that helped me with stiffness was MSM & glucosamine, really good for the joints. Guest guest
le, you said you herxed with your cognative function and anxiety - how did you know it was from the teasel and how much did you start with in the beginning. I could use your expertise - I seem to be having some challenges with the dosage of everything. It is always hard to tell what causes what - too much, not enough, sugar....I had about 2 weeks of fabulous energy and clarity. Then my son helped me reset my infarred sauna - about 10 after I started teasel - just 2 drops most days. 2 days after the sauna (and it was HOT here those days) I hit the wall - so badly I slept in the afternoon and I never do that. So, hence the challenge - who knows what it was from - Oh and I had used a GB4000 about a weed before. Go figure. Really appreciate some input. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of le Handy Sent: Sunday, August 29, 2010 7:02 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Teasel teasel was the first thing my naturopathic llmd along with smilax and they both helped tremendously and i am still on both of them now altho i added samento. teasel made me herx with my cognative function and anxiety but yes i would say after about 2 weeks it calmed down for me and hasn't been an issue since. one thing that helped me with stiffness was MSM & glucosamine, really good for the joints. Guest guest
well, first i never do anything new together at all, not supplements, meds or anything that way i know. i would have waited and done the sauna a week later from the teasel. i knew it was the teasel cuz that was the only thing i added to my regime. i started with one drop a day, i usually herx about the 4-5th day and then i go to 2 drops, etc. i have never used infared saunas but i have heard how volatile it can be on the body. the time frame for you herx might be longer than mine and you might have to wait longer to do other things. btw, where do you get you teasel? danielle On Mon, Aug 30, 2010 at 7:45 AM, <wilson33@...> wrote: > > > le, you said you herxed with your cognative function and anxiety - > how > did you know it was from the teasel and how much did you start with in the > beginning. Guest guest
I worked up to 10 drops 3x daily. After 4 months I stopped. I could tell no difference. Josie
Guest guest
How much Smilax do you take? So it definitely doesn't cause low blood sugar issues? (I know it's been known to lower blood sugar in those with HIGH blood sugar. But I didn't know if us hypoglycemics should avoid it) > > > > > > > I started teasel this week to try to help my painful knees that are > > stopping me sleeping on my side [even with a cushion in between]. > > > > Luckily, I started with one drop and am not yet progressing because almost > > immediately I felt thick malaise drift over me and have been a zombie ever > > since, though have continued with one drop a day.
