Yes very true. Boy you should have seen my slide under the dark field

microscope! It was a mess and that is what made me push my Endo for an Igenex

test. It was all right there in the slide.....

I developed severe deep body itching in my ears, chest & neck after about 5

months of oral antibiotics for Lyme. I was taken off all antibiotics 6 weeks

ago (including IV Rocephin-4months worth) because the itching was getting worse

and causing severe fatigue, sleepiness and my weight was dropping rapidly.

Candidiasis was suspected so I went on a strict Candida diet and started taking

oil of oregano capsules & olive leave complex. I noticed when the itching got

severe it caused a flare-up of my neuro Lyme symptoms: ringing in my ears,

tingling, energy & mood low. When itching goes away I feel much better. I've

been on the herbs & diet for 8 weeks. Has anyone been able to kill of Candida

through herbs & diet. My LLMD does not recommend prescription drugs for it. I

have fewer acute episodes of itching (which can last for many hours at its

worse). I think I'm detoxing a lot: through stool (odd smell) & urine (which

sometimes has small bubbles floating on top). Does candida create carbon

dioxide when it dies? I'm thinking of what happens when yeast is used in

baking.

My LLMD told me I have gotten as much as I can from antibiotics (13 months) and

shouldn't take them anymore.Initially he thought the antibiotics were the cause.

But I've been off them for 6 weeks and I still have some itching though it's not

as severe and my energy is much improved.

I think I'm relieved and will begin Buhner protocol--but first must deal with

Candida.

Anyone have similar experience with deep body itching (my orifices are not

effected) due to Candida. If so how did you deal with it.

Thanks,

Kim

Take diflucan (sp?). Its perscrip but ur load seems high. Get it manageable then

go natural. Phytostan from integrative therapeutics is a great candida killer.

But I had to use perscrp first.

I work with and know tons of dr who are integrative and prefer natural, but w

candida they all say go with diflucan when u have a high load.

No do not take Diflucan for Candida. It temporarily gets rid of the problem, but

upon stopping it comes back an 10 times worse. I have a HUGE candida issue and

have researched and tried everything, literally for 3 years. The only thing to

give me relief after 3 years of suffering along with my Lyme(Didnt know I had

Lyme at the time) was the following program. If I didnt take it the Candida

makes me more non functional then the LD. The first link is to my friend Kathys

page you can read her story and see how Candida is very closely related to LD as

far as symptoms, but also how devastating and serious it is. Also on the Candida

site be sure to listen to Dr. M's video library and his book is really great

too. I hope this helps....

ii have chronic lyme and just diagnosed with candida.  in 2008 and 2009  i was

seeing

an LLD who put me on a massive antibiotic platform.  after two years and

minimal

improvement i went off it  during this regimen i began getting some rashes and

itchiig.

early this year i met a LLD who does specific testing that covers every known

pathogen

i was diagnosed that i still had all the lyne related batonella, babesia ect but

also tested

positive for candida. in all there were 15 different pathogens to be treated

this doctor uses the most complex treatmen form ive ever been exposed to  he

has

specific herbal formulas for every known pathogen  anyway as i strated this new

regiment the rashes the itching increased immensley  i was herxing badly the

herbal

formulas for the ist 3 pathogen were complete (by the way each formula you take

nightly

for 18 nights with chlorella,cilantro and a magnet )

about a week ago or so i started my 4th kit which is for candida  since then i

have been itching feveriously  it seems like if i itch a spot the itch moves to

another.  i suspect this may

be the candida being shaken up

my question is there anything that can lessen the constant itching and my body

is consumed with

rashes from it. over the couter  ant itch creams have not helped

any suggestion  thanks  joe in pa

I was prescribed Diflucan and had horrendous herxes and even suicidal thoughts

so I had to go off. I stuck it out for 10 of the 21 days prescribed. I also

was taking caprylic acid and continued that. NOW makes a product called Candida

Clear which contains caprylic acid among other ingredients. In addition, I buy

Pau D'Arco in bulk from Mountain Rose Herbs and brew that (actually boil it for

20 to 30 min) to make tea which supposedly helps fight candida.

Diet is important. Avoid alcohol, sweets, starchy foods, etc.

There is a candida group on although I don't follow it. But I'm sure

there are very knowledgeable people there.

  • 2 weeks later...

Delayed response to this thread: I was diagnosed with candidiasis by Great

Smokey Labs in 2001. I was trying to get pregnant without success at that time,

for over a year, while taking natural antifungals of all sorts. Then, someone

posted in an online forum that you cannot clear candida without colon cleansing.

Candida thrive where there is waste build-up. That made complete sense to me,

and that person changed my life.

I bought Bernard Jensen's book Tissue Cleansing Through Bowel Maintenance and

did the one-week fast with supplements and colon cleanses.

I got pregnant two weeks later. I love the occasional success story so I'm

posting this, also for the record...something to keep in mind with stubborn

candida infections. The fast wasn't pleasant but I've never had the same degree

of trouble with candida again.

All the best,

Trish

I also treated candida but in a different way. I took diflucan (which I could

not tolerate beyond the 12 days) and caprylic acid (NOW has a product called

Candida Clear which contains that plus some other ingredients). I drink 2 cups

of Pau d'Arco tea daily which is for maintenance, and also avoid sugar and

refined carbs (as well as gluten).

I had a leaky gut for 2 years and it appears to be completely healed now.

Thanks, Deb, nice to hear you are healed up!

I have Candida Clear and was thinking of giving it (in modified dose) to

my daughter (7) while she is on this course of antibiotics. I can't

figure out the best way to time that: give antibiotics and antifungals

at the same time, or alternate them every few hours, or what? Does it

even matter?

I guess I'm asking this to everyone but I figure you might also know.

All the best,

Trish

How long did it take for you to heal your gut? I am trying to heal my sons

leaky gut and I feel like I am on the right path. I just started using Candida

clear and I also purchased some candidate. Lots of probiotics and diet. Thanks!

Hmm, I can't exactly how long it took. I have been taking probiotics for one

year and avoiding gluten (and alcohol) for two years. I did the diflucan and

caprylic acid just this past spring. I think avoiding food allergens is as

important as anything because the gut needs time to heal from the damage. If

you haven't tested your son for food intolerances/allergies, you can look to

have that done or just try the elimination diet (which you can google) and

remove all the well known allergens (gluten, corn, peanuts, dairy, etc.) and

then add each one back in slowly.

Forgot to mention that I also was advised to take Grapefruit Seed Extract for

maintenance. I am using a product by NutriBiotic called Defense Plus.
