Dear Beth,

Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery! Thanks very much for sharing

your story. In Suzanne Somers' book Knockout, she postulates that

bioidentical hormones actually prevent cancer. Your experience makes me

think twice about using them once I reach that stage of life.

Sorry to hear about the dreary stuff you are going through but it's good

you caught it so early!

I don't believe that there are any large long term studies that show this and I

sure would not want to take it on a gamble if I were you. Researchers originally

believed that if one takes bio-identical estrogen that one needs to take

progesterone along with it to prevent a form of cancer.

What I do know for sure is that my cancer was analyzed to see how many estrogen

and progesterone receptors it had, meaning how much it fed on these two hormones

and mine fed on both. That means that stopping both will help kill any remaining

cancer cells. NAd that both hormones helped the cancer grow in the first place.

That I know for sure.

I would not play around with either HRT if I had it to do over again and I have

stopped taking both as my docs recommended.

There is SO much false info in the alternative medicine and western medicine

realm about bio identicals unfortunately. I think it is extremely important to

look at the research.

I was told by 3 different doctors that the biod. progesterone will help

prevent cancer and Im taking it now! So Im really confused about that!

Hi Trish,

I have heard her speak and I dont think she cares about all the good research

that has been done. I also dont think that she understands the biology. She

cares about making money. There really is good long term research on thousands

of women at this point and it all shows that HRTs increase breast cancer risk

significantly.
