I don't know what you had done, but whenever I have dental work I will try to

take some chlorella and I take Clindamicin. Even with cleaning. Plus, I will

usually use photon light therapy to aid in swelling and pain.

I don't know what my old dentist used, I don't think it was Novacaine, but it

was so much easier to handle. I hate Novacaine.

Hope you feel better soon!

any of these things happen to anyone else when getting dental work?

Hi ,

No, I haven't had this happen, except getting a little lightheaded from the

Novocaine. May-be you are sensitive to the Novocaine? What kind of dental work

did you have done? Maud

Novacaine comes mixed with epinephrine. I can't tolerate it at all-- get heart

pounding and tremors for 24 hours. It's very hard on the adrenals if they're

already stressed. You can tell the dentist you can't tolerate epinephrine and

they'll use a different numbing agent. They may have to inject you twice,

because the other drugs don't last as long, but it works and doesn't give me

palpitations & tremors.

I had a tooth extracted two months ago and have been very sick ever since. I'm

waiting for blood work results again, but had a lot of pain, swollen lymph nodes

(brain scramble can be fun-- I almost wrote nymph lodes!) and increasing kidney

pain after taking ibuprofen. My immune system seems to have been knocked for a

loop.

Well tonight one of the teeth they worked on felt sharp on my tongue and then

all the sudden a piece fell out and sharp pain because the nerve is exposed. so

back i go at 9am to be on their doorstep. I will ask for no Epi but Im praying

they dont have to pull it out....sigh

Hi ,

I also get increased rashes, etc. when I have dental work done, or stress

for that matter. A lot of my bart symptoms are in my jaw area too, and I

have tooth pains all the time.

Hope you feel better soon?

I fine lidocaine (novacaine) makes my heart race and I don't feel good

after it. Now I am only given carbacaine sp? It takes longer to set in,

but I feel so much better afterwards.

I deleted the message chain as it was getting long :)

The time before the last time I went to the dentist I had a major reaction to

the novocaine. Tunnel vision, fear, heart racing. He told me they actually

don't use novocaine anymore (although everyone calls it that anyway).

The mixture they use now has epinephrine in it (makes it work better, faster) -

if you are experiencing any kind of adrenal stress/fatigue, it can really blow

you out of the water.

They marked me 'No EPI' in my chart, and the time I went since I had no reaction

to the numbing agent.

I spoke with a friend of mine who used to be an ER nurse - she said that it

sounded like I had a major parasympathetic nervous system response to the epi,

and my blood pressure bottomed out. So this is nothing to mess around with. If

you have weird symptoms from an injection, talk to your dentist about

alternatives. If your dentist isn't open to this, find a new one!!!

They didnt have to pull it. he said the other dentist didnt do it right...sigh.

they are composites so it is more difficult to harden them he said. And they

used no Epi which made a HUGE difference! I have pain but my cns isnt all jacked

up lol. Now back in 2 weeks for the other 3 on the right side and removing the 4

amalgams in 2 months in the bay Area by laser. Hugs

I have to ask them not to give me Epinephrine (which is usually in the

novocaine). That keeps the heart from pounding for hours. Last time I had

Epinephrine my heart pounded for two days straight!!! It was horrible.

My blood pressure bottomed out after a colonoscopy three years ago, following IV

injection of a different drug (benzodiazepine, I think). Part of the problem is

that we may not be detoxing properly so even a small amount has tremendous

effect on us.

Thank you Jen! I may have to drop this list, though I've been a member for

years. It has gotten so long and cumbersome that I can't pull it up in a format

that I can read.

PLEASE, delete some of the messages you are responding to. Leave only the part

or parts that are relevant. The result if that is not done makes it impossibly

long.

Thank you in advance. jo

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to add in that after a root canal several years ago by a general

dentist, I had a similar reaction. He didn't take my BP, but I bet it was low.

He was slow, took over 2 hrs to do the root canal, and injected me three times.

I started to feel like I was going to pass out and had tremendous anxiety and

trouble focusing. The drugged feeling lasted 3 days.

One dentist told me I am sensitive to epi. I've done another root canal using

minimal epi and I did ok. All other times I ask for carbacain.

At least now I know what happened.

After any dental work, including cleanings, I will feel flu-like for a week or

so. A holistic dentist in St. Louis checks everyones saliva for spirochetes, and

if it's positive, he has them pre-treat with chlorhexadrine. I've tried this,

but it didn't change a thing for me. However, maybe it will help you or someone

else.

Funny to see this thread of messages today because my tooth cracked and a piece

fell out during work this morning. I just got it fixed, but am very cranky, not

sleepy, but want to be alone and lie down....all this after being so happy that

I was having a productive day at work.

That particular tooth seemed to have shifted a few weeks ago - suddenly I

couldn't chew on one side because the grooves of the teeth weren't meeting up

properly.

I know the Lyme et al. has leeched calcium from my body because I fractured

bones in each foot this spring. Plus I was having muscle twitches. The

twitches stopped once I found a good calcium supplement, but they come back when

I'm sick (I just got over bronchitis - maybe mycoplasma acting up again). I'm

scared all of my skeletal system is going to fall apart!
