Guest guest
It strikes that since resveratrol is found in the grape *skins*, it shouldn't matter if it's fermented or not. So wouldn't a glass of good old Welch's grape juice have all the good stuff found in red wine, without the hazards? I wonder why no one's addressed that issue. I bought Welch's new organic kind. > > derived from the skin, not the grape judy,no fermentation no etoh...etoh not listed ingredient, prob. ok...regards,r >
Guest guest
Remember that the published research by Dahl that everyone pushing this test as 'the gold standard, proof of drinking' ignores showed two positives in a placebo group drinking grape juice! I don't think anyone can say there is NO published studies that show anything but alcohol showing positives! The research was there....just ignored and NOT further researched! Guest guest
Have been taking beyond-a-century's resveratrol about a year and before that Jarrows for a couple years. Don't think these brands are nearly as potent as Longevinex's but they are cheaper. Seems to reduce constitutional fatigue. Steve B. <rhbailey@...> wrote: Hi all, The Nov. 17 New York Times had an article on resveratrol (found in tiny amounts in red wine) that sounds promising. It says that it can initiate a genetic mechanism known to protect mice against the degenerative diseases of aging and prolong their life spans by 30%. The researcher attributes this in large part to the significantly increased number of mitochondria in muscle cells. The article also speaks of a group of enzymes called sirtuins that resveratrol is believed to activate. The theory is that sirtuins sense the level of energy expenditure in living cells. One researcher theorizes that sirtuin activates PGC1-alpha which stimulates cells to produce more mitochondria. The researchers themselves are taking 40 milligram capsules of resveratrol, made by Longevinex. I checked that website, and there's a waiting list. Guest guest
If you use the Source Naturals, you get no grape juice or wine. It's derived from a completely different plant. I do sometimes get headaches from red wine and hard cheese, but had no problems with the Source Naturals Resveratrol, the one that says 40 mg, which is made from Japanese knotweed. > > Hello Everyone..can someone please tell me if its ok to take the > Restroval if you get migraines from red wine? Guest guest
I stopped taking the Source Naturals Resveratrol ever since they added the red wine ingredient due to sulfate / wine allergies. Has anyone found an equivalent in a supplement form by another brand? Something without a log of allergens, fillers, additives, etc? I am not looking to buy bulk herbs or do any encapsulations. Thanks, Steve
Guest guest
hi Steve, I've been using RevGenetics Resveratrol for some time with good success. They have a variety of strengths. I use the R300 which uses just Polygonum Cuspidatum. Go to RevGenetics.com I hope that helps. good luck, Judy On Jan 10, 2010, at 7:00 PM, Steve wrote: > I stopped taking the Source Naturals Resveratrol ever since they added > the red wine ingredient > due to sulfate / wine allergies.
