Guest guest
Hi again Maud. I have had a long course of IM Penicillin. Through the almost 9 years of my treatment, I have found the best lyme combo for me to be onmicef/zith/flagyl. Cleocin is also a very excellent drug and is intracellular as well. It also has some effectiveness against babesia. I recently found that I have 2 strains of babesia, lyme, and bartonella. < In a message dated 8/20/2010 11:20:37 A.M. Guest guest
Hi , Did you get rid of the Lyme? And if you did, what was the final cure? What are you doing for the Bartonella and Barbesia? Guest guest
I did IV rocephin for 9 months. I would not change a thing I have done. It set me on the path to healing. My body is getting better all the time. Still doing antibiotics to treat babesia, also herbs. I use a supplements to boost the immune system and rebuild gut. Keep your eye on the goal!! Guest guest
Hi Monty, I am so glad that you are getting better. That must have been difficult and expensive to be on iv antibiotics for 9 months. The main thing is that it worked. A lot of people are against the antibiotic route ,but I feel that you kind of have to try it, because it does work for many people and you can't leave any stone unturned. The co-infections seems to be another problem. I always live as large as I can. Even if I can only crawl, I will do something. Guest guest
I had great success with Bicillin IM injections. I really started making progress with this ABX.
Guest guest
I had progress w/the bicillin shots too, but now that I'm off abx's, I feel symptoms coming back. My insurance would only cover them for 3 months, same for the IV Rocephrin, I was allowed only a month, went thru the hassles of having it surgically implanted, only to find out a month later insurance wouldn't pay for it anymore, and I am financially drained and couldn't afford to pay out of my pocket, so frustrating. I have Lyme and co-infections and who knows what else, and since it took them so long to diagnose me, I have to continually hit them w/something, they've been growing for years and don't want to leave their happy home, someday they'll get evicted. Through all this I've learned patience, I've learned to go slower, I stop and smell the roses now, little acts of kindness are so precious to me because it is the small things that count the most. A kind jester goes a long way for me. Before I got sick, I was always life in the fast lane, now I let everyone pass me! Like many of you, lots of my friends/family have turned away, they don't stop by or call anymore, I think they don't know how to see us in pain and it scares them, at least we have each other here! Guest guest
Hi and everybody, I am glad you had success with Bcillin. I am taking it now every other day and I am really feeling sick and I need some encouragement to continue. I had to stop the Andrographies in the Buhner protocol as I was getting violently sick to my stomach and I was throwing up every day with a lot of cramps in my stomach. Sometimes you wonder how much more you can take of discomfort, fatigue and pain. I can barely walk to-day and it is hard to explain to somebody even family how you feel. Is there any hope at all? Guest guest
Hi , I am so sorry you had to stop the the Bcillin shots. It is awful, that we can't get the medicines we need because of money. It is criminal. I don't know how long my insurance will pay for mine, but I have a back-up, my son, but if it is endless then what? There is a paper written by a German doctor F.W. Schardt about the clinical effects of Fluconazole in Patients with Neuroborreliosis. He says: Because Borrelis spp. can penetrate the central nervous systems in acute as well as chronic stages of the infection, neuro-borreliosis is quite a common complication. Therapy may not effectively prevent CNS penetration since only penicillins penetrate the blood/brain barrier in case of meningitis. Other antibiotics used in treatment of Borrelia infections(Doxycycline erythromycin, cephalosporins) do not achieve CFS concentrations. This fact may explain the low response rates of antibiotic therapy. In this study 8/11 patients were clinically cured and 3/11 were improved after 3weeks of treatment with fluconazole. This was in the European Journal of Medical Research. Apparently fluconazole has an inhibitory impact on a cytochrome P450, which incapacitates the Borrelia spp. upon longterm exposure with it. He says that may-be a longer treatment would have improved the results. I am going to look into it further and a month of fluconazole treatment can be be overcome. It does affect the liver and it has some interactions with some other medications.
