Guest guest
Hi, I just heard from someone who was bed-ridden from lyme for a whole year that colloidal silver turned it around completely for him. I have heard of this before, to treat infections, but hadn't thought about it for lyme. Anyone here try it? Just wondering .. thanks! Kate [ ] Herbs and/or antibiotics I disagree with the contention that long term antibiotic use destroys the immune system. I have been treated with many antibiotics over the past four years, both oral and IV. My immune system was in such a bad state that without the antibiotics, I could have never managed to come back from Lyme and the four co-infections I had. I have had no colds and only one virus in all of this time so as long as your doctor is supplementing your immune system with the proper supplementation, there is a decent chance that you will eventually be fine. I am also using Buhner's protocol along with some other herbs my doctor uses and for me, neither is a panacea. However I have come along way and I could have never come this far without the antibiotics. Just another perspective.
Guest guest
I spoke with a woman last week who is doing very well and in remission. She used colloidal silver and the cowden protocol, no abx. She highly recommends the silver. I will be getting some. > > > Hi, I just heard from someone who was bed-ridden from lyme for a whole year that colloidal silver turned it around completely for him. Guest guest
Hi Kate, I'm just now beginning to work with an LLMD after countless years of being quite ill. His approach tends toward natural methods of healing, generally. At my appointment last week he recommended that I begin using colloidal silver ......he said it couldn't hurt me.....he's had hundreds of patients use it, and said that the worst thing that could happen is that it doesn't help. He's seen a variety of results with it. Mine just came in the mail today. Looking forward to hearing other people's experiences with c.s. Hope this helps.... peace and ease, yarrow > > > Hi, I just heard from someone who was bed-ridden from lyme for a whole year that colloidal silver turned it around completely for him. I'm stunned with this answer. The medical literature is full of problems caused by colloidal silver. Maybe most of them are the result of not following the instructions or different formulations (if you believe the believers, there are hundreds of different flavors of CS), but it can lead to very severe problems like silver poisoning which is irreversable. In my country (Netherlands) colloidal silver is used as well by some alternative docs. But the trouble is, almost all people who claim they were cured were never proven to have lyme in the first place. And for most of them I really doubt of they had lyme, because their symptoms were very vague and nothing like the more serious chronic lyme cases. Most of these people get 'tested' here with a device called bicom, that is a bit related to the biophoton880 and other of these devices from Germany. IMHO this test is completely bogus, or if you want maybe similar to using a biotensor to prove that one has Lyme. I do believe that silver helps against bacterial infections, like in the special socks with silver wires that prevent bad odors when you have sweaty feet. But that is external use and not colloidal silver. For any real internal use I would be very careful.
Guest guest
My LLMD practice said they would need to know if I wanted to try colloidal silver (not under their supervision, with another practice) because of its effects on the liver. I think while getting intensive antibiotics it may not be recommended. BTW my LLMD has no bias against alternative therapies, but said they need to know which herbs & other methods I wanted to try. So far I haven't found an naturopath to work with in my area. Kim [ ] Herbs and/or antibiotics > > I disagree with the contention that long term antibiotic use destroys the > immune system. Guest guest
I have been using colloidal silver for months now. You can buy this at an exorbitantly expensive price. The dose you need is much higher than 1 t to 1 T a day. You can buy a generator to make your own. This is what I am doing. The generator produces " ionic " silver vs. colloidal silver (at least that's my understanding) but has the same effect. Making your own requires high quality distilled water. There should be nothing in the water (tap water is out) that would cause silver salts to be formed. It is these salts that are responsible for all the negative info about ingesting silver and turning blue. You can read more about colloidal silver related to Lyme on the dougplus group. has at least one or two colloidal silver groups although they might not be specific to Lyme treatment. I can say that I have seen improvement in symptoms but I am also using a rife machine, plus taking a number of nutritional supplements. I have not had luck with the Buhner herbs so far. Everytime I start one, I get GI distress and have to stop. deb > > > At my appointment last week he recommended that I begin using colloidal silver .....he said it couldn't hurt me.....he's had hundreds of patients use it, and said that the worst thing that could happen is that it doesn't help. > > > I'm stunned with this answer. Guest guest
I beg to differ. My wife has been using homemade CS since last April. It has helped put her lyme into remission. She tested positive btw on the IDSA guidelines via her Western Blot. It's a confirmed case. For us (and our family and friends) CS has been a tremendous weapon in our war against pathogens. A great FAQ to read about CS is at http://www.silver-colloids.com/ www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > > > > At my appointment last week he recommended that I begin using > colloidal silver .....he said it couldn't hurt me.....he's > had hundreds of patients use it, and said that the worst > thing that could happen is that it doesn't help. > > > I'm stunned with this answer. Guest guest
I wish there was a physician out there who could prescribe/administer/monitor colloidal silver in a patient. She tested positive btw on the IDSA > guidelines via her Western Blot. It's a confirmed case. I don't doubt that, but I don't think proves anything regarding effectiveness or safety of CS. People recover from Lyme (sometimes ...) on the most crazy therapies. They might as well have recovered on an extra glass of water daily, or no treatment at all - no way to know. I know a few people who recovered from confirmed LD, with mild symptoms btw, without any treatment (one of them even two times, he gets bitten often). My impression is that, for LD cases with similar severity, the success of ABX or Buhner is not that different - maybe 1/4 had great improvement, 1/2 had some improvement (maybe only as long as they were on the protocol) and 1/2 had no improvement at all or things got even worse. ILADs docs or even Buhner himself will sometimes claim over 90% cure rate, but I don't think that reflects reality. ABX usually shows somewhat better results than herbs, but I think that is mostly because it is the first (easy) choice. So most of the mild cases (or those who don't have Lyme at all but think they have it) start out with ABX and consider this their 'cure' if the symptoms disappear. Such results do not prove at all that these two protocols work, only that neither of them is clearly more effective than the other (but we know that one of them is less risky ...). If you add the - very limited and biased - data from the few doubleblind longterm ABX tests, the impression is that all these protocols have, on average, a limited impact on the disease. Proving that longterm ABX works for LD is very difficult. My gut feeling is that the therapy that is used is NOT the major factor in recovery. Probably there are far more important factors, like the Bb strain that the patient has (there are hundreds, with huge differences between them), coinfections, genetic factors in the patient (like certain HLA antigenes that help Bb with immune evasion or increase risk of cross reactions), other factors affecting the immune system etc. Maybe for some, a certain therapy will work wonders while it will not do anything for someone else. If one truly believes in a therapy, it will probably help no matter how crazy the 'science' behind it. The power of suggestion (placebo) cannot be denied. Guest guest
I think you might want to spend some time on the CS list and the Salt/C list. I suspect you will be very very surprised at what you will hear there. Or you can look on my free lyme resource cd and see a sample of what people are doing and what they are reporting. I have yet to see any reports of problems with CS with anyone. I do read many many reports of healing and relief. Check it out for yourself. I know I was extremely skeptical when I first heard of it and it took me years to even want to investigate it further. www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > [ ] Re: Anyone here try colloidal silver? > > > > > > > > I beg to differ.
