Guest guest
when my family was really sick with lyme and co's there were no cycle swings. just illness. you have to find the right thing to help you climb out. maybe the buhner protocol will do it for you. it takes a lot of patience and willingness to ingest a lot of herbs. my family couldn't tolerate the amount of pills, so we went to antibiotics, which helped my husband but in the end, not my daughter. we moved on to rife therapy and massage and herbal supports. they are both doing much better now. it is really a challenge to find what works right for you. good luck, feel better! I continue to feel crappy most of the time. When do the cycle swings start? I have had the Lyme and Bartonella for at least 1 1/2 years and the last 6 months I have been very ill. I am just waiting for some good days. I thought I would have had some by now. Any ideas? Maud
Guest guest
My daughter was diagnosed last Nov with Lyme and Bart, we believe she also had been sick for about 1 1/2 years. She started ABX in mid Nov and the Core protocol in mid Dec. It took her about two months to begin to feel better. With the herxing going on meds she felt much worse before getting better. She could barely get out of bed and had significant cognitive issues (major brain fog). She continued to make progress since the beginning of 2010. She returned to playing travel soccer on a limited basis this past Spring. She is still taking ABX and the core along with other supplements. We are gluten free, limit sugar and carbs. We still have some issues with memory, emotional and fatigue. However, she is soooo much better. She will be a frshman in high school this Fall and is in the midst of soccee tryouts. She just completed three straight days of two a day tryouts ( that is 5 hous of soccer per day). She did so well that she was practicing with the varsity. She is getting her life back! Stick with the ABX and the core. Best of luck! Maud Steinberg <maudsteinberg@...> wrote: >I was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago with Lyme and Bartonella and was started on Abx and the core herbs. Guest guest
Maud, If you don't see any improvement soon, contact your LLMD. He would probably change your meds to see if something else works better. Guest guest
It took me ages to have 'good days'. I've been treating since January - and just a couple weeks ago had a true 'good day' where I woke up feeling differently (as opposed to a 'good day' where I had a little more energy because I took a 3 hour nap or whatever). For me it took a bit to find the right combo of medications. That said, I wasn't bedridden before, so a 'good day' may have been a different thing for me than someone who is more debilitated. Hang in there - trust yourself - research your treatment and talk to your doctor about your concerns. I think if you notice your treatment doing 'something', even if it doesn't feel good, you probably have some traction. If you feel no different at all, that's a different conversation.
