Hi - There's some good videos @ Youtube about the Knotweed.

It also can be found along roads like where I found it.

The good eatin' time is in April when the new shoots come up like

asparagus.

I've chewed on some of the stems; it has a tangy, citrus taste.

I've pulled a clump up. exposing the main root which I'd scrape

with a knife, break in pieces and put in a pot of boiling water for

tea. I added some ginger root for more taste and it's medicinal

strength.

I think I read that the leaves could upset one's stomach but I

wonder how a horse with Lyme would like it. {?}

Japanese Knotwood is hated around New England, as it's regarded

as an invasive plant. The Corps of Engineers apparently brought it

here. Oops!

I am going to ask around to see if anyone has it and wants it

to removed. I'm sure they'd love to have it removed! Chris
