Guest guest
Hi folks, I have a new symptom and am trying to determine if it's a Lyme disease symptom, a side effect of Plaquenil, or a side effect of the Buhner protocol (or something entirely different). I'm currently taking the following, all 3 caps 4x/day, so I'm close to being at the full protocol: Resveratrol, cat's claw, and smilax. I started Plaquenil in early July. I spent two weeks at the beach in the middle of August. I was religious about using sunscreen. Partway through the second week, my skin felt hot and burned, even though no burn was visible. It was mostly on my hands and feet. Now I'm still feeling it, in spite of being out of the sun for a week, and the new thing is that my skin is hypersensitive to pain. Flossing my teeth, for example, causes me lots of hand pain due to the string cutting into my skin. (No actual cut or even red mark, just stinging pain.) Heat and cold make my skin tingle uncomfortably. The description of acrodermatitis chronica atrophicans in Healing Lyme is partly close, but there's no visible lesion anywhere. Plaquenil can cause light sensitivity, but I can't find anything about increased sensitivity to pain. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be?
