Guest guest
Haven't used grapeseed extract, but I have used a product called Candex for yeast and it has worked and has no die-off effects. Best of luck in your health endeavors. DonnaLee __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I've read that people go up to 15 drops per dose, and dose several times 3-4 per day as needed. I've also read that it can really flare yeast oddley after it kills yeast, it can flare bacteria and to work up to that dose of 15 drops. You can follow it with charcoal after 2 hours if herx is a problem. Some people also drink it with some sort of fiber supplement like metamucil to slow it's passing in the digestive track and increase the chance that it will make physical contact with the walls of the digestive tract. You can put the drops in an empty capsule if you're quick, some capsules disolve. And probiotics -- huge -- if you can take them you'll need to replenish good flora. > > Hi > Does anyone know how much of grapefruit seed extract equals 500mg of flagyl? Is it 500 mg to 500 mg? I bought the liquid grapefruit seed extract and did what would be 500 mg but the bottle said not to do that high dose. I guess I ignore that? I'm trying to do the urine Igenex test and there is an antibiotic protocol. > The grapefruit seed extract pill is probably easier on digestive tract than the liquid but I bought the liquid becase the pills had other ingredients. I read somewhere grapefruit seed extract is sometimes used instead of Flagyl by " some " . > Happy holidays and wishing you a healthier New Year. > > > > > >
Guest guest
I bought a bottle of GSE from Mountain Rose Herbs, and only when I received it did I pay attention to the note that said " external use only " The ingredients listing says " Grapefruit seed extract in 40% vegetable glycerin base, citric acid " When I look at the other manufacturer's GSE that are labled for internal use, I am seeing pretty much the same ingredients. Are the folks at Mountain Rose Herbs being overly cautious? Do you think I can still take it internally?
Guest guest
> > I bought a bottle of GSE from Mountain Rose Herbs, and only when I received it did I pay attention to the note that said " external use only " maybe the 'external use' is because of publicity about potentially dangerous chemical residue in GSE. Some of the GSE products contain a dangerous chemical, residue of the extraction process. Some people think the anti-Bb (cystbuster) action of GSE is caused by the chemical residue. GSE also works as a quorum sensing blocker, which might explain its benefit with Lyme disease and other infections. I don't know if any of the studies (e.g. from Brorson & Brorson) checked if the action is due to some genuine part of the grape(fruit?) seed, or if it is caused by chemical contaminants. maybe ask the manufacturer? does anyone know if all GSE products are made by extraction, or are some (the pills) made just by grinding down the seeds? Guest guest
Janet, The health food stores sell capsules that you can fill yourself. They are made of gelatin I believe. I wonder if you can place the liquid within the capsule and swallow that instead. I think it might be a tad messy to do and might even need to put it in 2 capsules, but it would save you the horrible taste. (And the capsules would dissolve pretty quickly in the stomach). Just a thought... Kelley
Guest guest
If you are taking GSE to avoid candida, I wouldn't take it with fruit juice or any other sweetened drink. I was under strict instructions not to drink fruit juice (even 100% pure)--the concentrated sugars feed bacteria and candida. That's what my LLMD practice told me. Kim [ ] Grapefruit Seed Extract My new LLMD prescribed a liquid form of grapefruit seed extract, but I find the taste repulsive! I put 12 drops into water and the taste was so awful I couldn't finish it. I'm curious to know what others' experience has been with GSE. Do you take capsules? Is there a " magic fruit juice " (LOL) that blocks the flavor? Janet
