One month of doxy was not enough. Lyme-literate medical doctors (LLMDs) keep

their patients on it longer. Also, the dose matters. Minimum 200mg 2x/day,

sometimes up to 300mg 2x/day. Sounds like you're on the Buhner protocol now, so

people here will help you with your Qs. You can also learn more about

options at _www.lymenet.org_ (http://www.lymenet.org) as well as ask for

suggestions there for LLMDs in your area. - Robin

I am new to this group and am searching for more information on the

protocol and effects people have had on it. I have had Lyme 6 - 112

months and tested positive for it following a lot of migrating joint

pain. I did 28 days of doxycycline and my doctor said he did not

recommend more. I asked about alternatives and Dr. said there were

none. So I did my own research my pain recurred 3 to 4 weeks once I

stopped antibiotics. I have been on the core protocol for 5 weeks now

and Arthritis pain herbs for 4 weeks. I started the collagenous

tissue protocol last week because my pain had started to increase and

I seems to have had some kind of reaction after 4 days. I lost my

taste sensitivity to salt and now have a metallic taste in my mouth

and I have I had some itching, swelling and some hives occur on my

jo0ints, eyes and head. I have stopped taking silica and pregnenolone

since this reaction after talking with my PCP. She and I both thought

that the minor itcould even be a sign of possible healing given the

local areas affected. Thoughts???
