Guest guest
Monty,  Amazon always has them. Prices vary greatly. This one is FIR & is only $189.99  http://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Portable-Foldable-Sauna-Detox/dp/B002POAYDW/ref=s\ r_1_2?ie=UTF8 & s=sporting-goods & qid=1275759301 & sr=8-2 Sincerely, Sonya I have lyme disease & I got it here in Southern California. Its amazing. But I have never seen it for $250. Anyone have a link to that price. Def worth it. Ur body feels relaxed and in a cocoon. One of my docs used it on me for a while. Try it if you haven't. Best Monty Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T [ ] Re:Personal Infrared Saunas Hi, I have one and love it. I like it better than a cedar sauna. The personal sauna breaks down easily and I also like that my head is out during the treatment. When you use a large wood sauna you can actually rebreathe the toxins that you are sweating out. Hope this helps. Peggy
Guest guest
Here's another sauna site - www.nationalpoolwholesalers.com Q re portable FIRs - one has a foot pad, another has a ceramic heater. Does anyone have any experience with either of these types, what they're like, a comparison btn the two? thx - Robin [ ] Re:Personal Infrared Saunas Hi, I have one and love it. Guest guest
> Hi and , You refer to " this book " and " two saunas " but there is no information as to what specifics you are talking about. It would be very helpful to have specific information. What is the name & author of the book you recommend? What are the brands/model numbers of the saunas? Inquiring minds want to know! Guest guest
If I didn't live in an apartment and could stay put, I would buy one like this: http://www.activeforever.com/p-4974-hide-away-foot-and-body-personal-infrared-sa\ una.aspx I hear the portable ones work well enough, but are not very comfortable.. you sit upright on a little stool that is placed directly above the ceramic heating unit for 30min-1hr. There are some very high end portable saunas, one the better health guy recommended to me which he uses himself, but I'll have to look it up again. It was over $1000 though. Athena > > My doctor told me yesterday about a patient of his that has seen real improvement using a personal infrared sauna that cost her only $250. Has anybody had any experience with these and if so, which brand(s)? Thank you. >
Guest guest
The FIR saunas are best for deep detoxing, they get warm enough to sweat pretty good so long as you're drinking plenty of water. The dry heat saunas can get hot enough to really kill pathogens, but you don't detox quite as deeply. Dry saunas are superior to steam, but steam will work up a sweat so certainly better than nothing and it also gives your heart a nice work out! High heat kills pathogens. I knew someone online who bought one of those laying down vinyl type FIR portables off ebay/amazon.com for $200 and she was very happy with it. She said it did have an unpleasant " plasticy " outgasing for a while which to me sounded bad. But after that she used it all the time and it got so hot she could only stay in for 30 min before she was dripping with sweat. The laying down ones take up more room. Here's another option: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/188857/the_beauty_home_sauna_ig290_my_o\ wn_pg2.html?cat=46 I've been debating about getting a personal portable sauna as well.. I pay a gym membership just for the sauna and nothing else . Guest guest
, do you know what brand/model type portable it is? Athena > > I use a larger version that I purchased from a friend. Guest guest
My mom once bought one of those FIR heat boxes for use in a small bathroom and it was not worth the money compared to buying a portable FIR sauna. Had 3 huge FIR heat lamps. It's too hard to heat up that much space (even a small bathroom) to build up a sweat.. didn't work for her. I'm sure in a much smaller/contained space it would have worked. Guest guest
These look like a worthwhile affordable possibility, the FIR upright heaters. Not sure the cost.. ours were just red heat lamps so these look a lot better. Plus has group to ask questions! http://www.xmission.com/~total/temple/Soapbox/Articles/brsauna.html Athena > > I use a larger version that I purchased from a friend. Guest guest
More details on the FIR heaters, these look good, I might have to seriously think about these. The cheap looking portable FIR saunas I wonder about, especially how long the little heater unit it has lasts. http://www.xmission.com/~total/temple/Soapbox/Articles/sauna_01.html Athena > > I use a larger version that I purchased from a friend. Guest guest
Here is the link to the high end portable FIR sauna. It looks really nice, but if I remember correctly they wanted like $2000 for it, so I was not interested, waay too much for me! http://www.sunlighten.com/infrared-solo-system.htm Athena > > I use a larger version that I purchased from a friend. Guest guest
Here is what those inexpensive portable upright FIR saunas look like on the inside with the chair: http://www.promolife.com/saunas/far-infrared-saunas/personal-far-infrared-portab\ le-saunas/therasage-portable-far-infrared-sauna/prod_2476.html > > I use a larger version that I purchased from a friend. Guest guest
I think if I were to go the $300 portable route I'd buy from these guys, 14 day money back guarantee and have a good reputation as opposed to unknowns on ebay/amazon http://www.healthandmed.com/p-1868-fir-real-portable-far-infrared-fir-sauna-x-la\ rge.aspx > > I use a larger version that I purchased from a friend.
