Guest guest
I am a sixty year old woman and have been disabled for twelve years for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I just had a result of 20 on the CD-57, and results suggesting Lyme Disease on a checklist. My doctor (who I have seen for about ten years) is considering Chronic Lyme Disease as a possible diagnosis. I have had pulmonary emboli and have a history of anaphlactic reactions to various antibiotics which makes long term antibiotics a questionable treatment. Right now, I am very scared and very confused. I have read about the politics of chronic lyme disease and know that most medical people are disbelievers. I am scared that antibiotics are the only way to " get well " and they may not be an option for me. I am also concerned that I now have a shred of hope that I might feel better and it will be dashed. I thought I was used to chronic pain and feeling awful but I guess I am not. I was finished a Ph.D. in Child Psych/School Psych when I became ill. My brains are now mush. I read about Buhner in another online site and am anxious to hear what you all have to say. Sue
