Guest guest
Hi all. I am from the UK and have been ill for about 3-4 years now. I was bitten by a tick in Kent, England while camping in August 2002 and developed very mild symptoms (I didn't know TBD's existed and I wasn't warned, even though the tick was removed at the doctors surgery!). I generally felt quite tired with light sensivitity, but the symptoms were very mild and I didn't even go to the doctors. In November 2003 I became very ill. I had migrating pains all over, shooting pains, severe light sensivity, severe fatigue, noise sensitivity, chest pains, heart palpitations, chills, vertigo, panic attacks, headaches, joint pains, muscles pains and MANY more symptoms. I was diagnosed with M.E/CFS and offered anti depressants(I declined!). I only had routine blood tests done, no other investigations. Before the tick bite, I was 100% healthy all my life. I honestly cannot remember a day when I was really ill. I had maybe a cold each year, but that's it. I can't even ever remember having the flu. My family is/was also very healthy with no history of illness. I eventually found out about Lyme and found Dr. AW in England, who diagnosed me with borreliosis. I tried taking Samento, and it completely knocked me out. I was incredibly ill. I was having panic attacks almost 24/7 and I was a complete mess. I had heart palpitiations and new symptoms arrived. They got so bad that I was taken into hospital for a week and I honestly thought I was going to die. Since then I was too scared to start Samento again and Dr. AW put me on loads of supplements to try and build me up, and these greatly helped. Since stopping the Samento, new symptoms have arrived, mostly visual disturbances ( floaters, halo's around lights, fuzzy vision, etc ) I am not sure if these were caused by Samento of if the Samento just stirred up the bugs. I then started Oxytetracycline and continued to improve to about 50+%. After 6 months I stopped improving and herxing and I knew I needed a change of antibiotics. I was tried on Ciprofloxacin and NAC alongside the Oxy incase I had other infections like CPn, but these made no difference. Untill about 3 months ago when I had a nasty relapse and I feel awful again. I am now houndbound again. My LLMD has now changed my regime to: Doxy for 2 weeks then, Amoxi for 2 weeks then, Tinidazole for 2 weeks, then a 2 week break. I have just finished the first course of this reigme and have herxed immensely, so I think Lyme is still a big issue for me. I do think that I need to do more to recover from this illness. At the moment I just take the antibiotics and a few supplements. I would like to try and do more excercise, have lympathic drainage massages, detox baths, good diet and also start using the Buhner protocol alongside the antibiotics. I bought the Healing Lyme book about 8 months ago and was very interested, but I was taking in too much info at once and it was sadly pushed to one side. I would like to use the following from the Buhner protocol: Andrographis Japanese Knotweed ( I found some in my garden earlier! ) Cat's Claw ( I am very nervous about taking this again ) Smilax Stephania root ( for visual problems ) Does anyone know the best place to buy these herbs from? They need to be able to deliver to the UK. Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
