Guest guest
Yes, and they are all neuro-endocrine-immune disorders. You're right -- studying them together may shed some new light on treatment, which could help us tremendously. Let's hope the NEI Center produces something of benefit for Lyme patients.  FM, CFS and GWI all have known causes, as does Lyme. The perception that they are diseases with unknown origins is a rumor that was spread by the LDA in their Action Alert last October. Seems to me that there are still a lot of concerns about the proposed center. > > My question is, is it appropriate to continue discussing it here, since this is a site for discussion of Buhner herbs. If a prolonged discussion here is not appropriate here, then maybe we should have a private discussion. Being from Europe I haven't read al the discussion, but it seems to me that the proposed center is a good idea that fits with the 'environmental disease' concept that Buhner is talking about. Lyme is not just one very special disease, it is a small part of the puzzle and I think studying these related diseases together is the only way to progress. There are many similarities with other diseases with officially unknown cause, where researchers also talk about 'auto-immune' and 'infection trigger', 'chemical burden' etc.
