Very Important - account conversion

Many members of , Lyme-Documents, and -Offtopic (about half)

still have not " converted " their eGroups account into a

account. While this does not NEED to be done in order for you to receive

email, it does need to be done before you can access any of the features

from the web (including the archives). I HIGHLY encourage ALL members to

convert their accounts as soon as possible! Since the merge has

already changed their conversion instructions at least once. Because I have

already converted my account, I can't " re-convert " to see if my original

instructions are still precisely accurate. If you wait much longer to

convert your account, I may not be able to help you much if you run into

problems. I will have to refer you to . Maybe the

instructions work well and aren't at all confusing, but why take that

chance? PLEASE take the time to convert your account now. If you have any

questions I'll be glad to help.

The following instructions should work just fine. The language may have

changed just a bit, so the words I have put in quotes may no longer be the

exact words found. I'm sure where the words have been changed, you will

find something that sounds the same. This looks complicated, but once it is

done it becomes very simple to sign in to the webpages and find information.

Start at this webpage:

local/news.html . Feel free to read this page for a

little bit of information about the merger. Then go to the bottom of the

page and click on " Link my eGroups account to a ID " .

You will be asked for the email address and password you used for egroups.

(If you don't know your password, put your email address in the box below,

" Don't have a password? Forgot your password? " and click Continue. Your

password will be sent to you by email in about a minute.) Then you can

choose either the " I have a account " hyperlink or the " I don't have a

account " hyperlink.

If you choose the " I have a account " hyperlink you will be asked on

the next page to enter your ID and password. Once that is

done, BOTH your egroups and your accounts will be merged into ONE

account. You will have a ID identical to the ID you

had. (If you already have a ID then this should all look familiar to

you.)

If you click on the " I do not have a account hyperlink, you will be

given instructions on how to create a new ID for . Follow the

step-by-step instructions. When that is done, your account will now be a

account.

Please note, once you convert your account, you will need your ID to

access the webpages. You will no longer use your email address to sign in.

Please write this down in a safe and easily accessible place.
