Guest guest
Hi. I had significant hair loss in the beginning too, then I started drinking gelatin. Orignially it was for my nail, but it helped my hair too. In fact all summer, I had a good head of hair. Unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital with a severe case of salmonella and given IV flagyl. 2 weeks later my hair began to shed significantly. So, I do think flagyl has an effect. I am wondering if the IV Rocephin and oral Flagyl could have anything to do with my body not absorbing minerals? I am going into my 101 st. day on this protocol today. Any ideas? >> I lost hair (thinned out noticeably-at least to me) when I had high liver enyzmes when I had my gallbladder out. My doctor said that was not unusual as improper liver functions cause hair loss. And I had been on Rocephin so I guess I would make sure all your liver function tests are normal. She said it would come back to so I am holding her to it
Guest guest
Hair loss IS a symptom of lyme. If any 'lymie' takes a look at their pillow or at their drain to their shower, you will see significant hair. MSM, from the health food store, helps with this situation. Been there, done it. sue in nj

As I said in my original post: the first time I had hair loss was because of zinc deficiency caused by Lyme. So, I supplememted wth zinc and the hair loss stopped within a week. Now, I am wondering what is going on. I am leaning towards the idea about elevated liver enzymes and gallbladder problems. Thank you all for your ideas. a _________________________________________________________________ " Do me a favor, doc, tell me something good. Guest guest
HI, I had massive hair loss with flagyl. Once I stopped it the hair stopped falling out. I was recently put on flagyl and out comes the hair! I think flagyl does this. KIM
