DISUNITY IN THE LYME COMMUNITY

To The Lyme Communiyt:

I made a # of posts yesterday speaking the truth. There is now a concerted =

effort to discredit me by spreading disinformation. I am a Lyme patient who =

attends the Queens support group in NYC. These are the facts:

    The lyme community is divided between those who support the LDA (Lyme D=

isease Association of N.J.) and the LDF (Lyme Disease Foundation. There are =

3 main issues dividing them:

1) Competing bills before Congress. LIFT vs. LDI. Go to the the LDF & LDA w=

ebsites for specifics. In my opinion LIFT is the superior legislation, as it=

is based on similar legislation passed by the CFS community and it as helpe=

d them much. Dr. Burrascano supports LIFT.

2) Funding Durland Fish, a Steere crony and a member of the ALDF (American =

Lyme Disease Foundation). The ALDF is Stere's front organization. Professor =

Fish discovered the new spirochete and wants $ to study it.   It is wrong to=

support funding for Dr. Fish. Such funding will only increase the power of =

Steere's camp. Would you give Steere $ to study anything?

    The LDA and its supporters (Pat -head of the LDA, Pam Weintraub-de=

signated scientific advisor to the LDA, & Ellen Lubarsky -NY lyme activist) =

have supported this funding. Originally it was Pam Weintraub's idea to fund =

Fish. Supposedly " he is the only one in any position to be able to secure su=

ch funding to study the new spirochete, therefore he should be supported " .

    The LDF ( & Forschner) oppose funding Durland Fish. There a=

re others who can study the new spirochete, and Fish will not do an unbiased=

scientific investigation anyway.

    Yesterday Forschner publicly stated she does NOT support such fun=

ding. Pat , Ellen Lubarsky, Pam Weintraub have issued no such denial. T=

hey can't because they know Forschner knows the truth that they have s=

upported the funding. If they deny it know, they would be calling her a liar=

..

    Durland Fish as attacked the LDF in the past, go to http://www.cslib.or=

g/attygenl for a report on this from Connecticutt's state attorney general. =

    I am accused of smearing others- but I am angry because I did not make =

contributions to the LDA to support such funding. I would like a refund.

3)NY Hearings- Everyone wants hearings. The problem is that the LDA refuses=

to allow the LDF to play a roll. The LDF has offered for over a year now- t=

hey have better expert witnesses/national contacts as they are a national or=

ganization

(the LDA is a regional organization) and much information (evidence of misd=

eeds by members of the Steere camp). This means we are going into these hear=

ings disunited with only 1/2 of our resources. This may spell failure.

    There are other concerns about the hearings but the LDF can not get a s=

traight answer. Why were they scheduled so close to Thanksgiving? Why are th=

ey scheduled for AFTER Burrascano's last hearing? Why are the on Alternative=

Medicine and not strictly Lyme? Some of us fear we are beig set up for a fa=

ll- just like the recent GAO investigation.

        FAIM- the Foundation for Alternative and Innovative Medicine, heade=

d by (Ellen's friend), a lobbyist, has taken sides by supporti=

ng the LDA. This makes me upset because I did not make contributions to them=

to choose sides.

    The LDA is now spinning the facts. There is a coordinated campaign agai=

nst me (i have been very open, giving out my name & phone #). The persons wh=

o know I speak the truth have too much dignity to engage in this mudsliging =

back and forth.

    When it's all said and done- the facts are that they support funding Du=

rland Fish and have shut the LDF out of NY. Their spin is that these hearing=

s are run by NY legislators and agencies and THEY choose who has a role. Any=

one who knows anything about politics knows this is a ridiculous lie.

    If Dr. Burrascano loses his license & the hearings lead to bad legislat=

ion (or no legislation) then it will be the fault of the LDA for not allowig=

the LDF a role in NY. Many LLMDs have called for an LDF role and are upset =

at these divisions (as you know they do not get publicly involved in all thi=

s squabbling).

    These are the FACTS. But now the LDA will say bad thigs about me. I giv=

e them credit for organizing this coordinated campaign against me. But what =

matters here is not me- it is these 3 issues.

      If Dr. Burrascano loses his license, now you know it was the fault of=

the LDA - Pat , Ellen Lubarsky, Pam Weintraub and for no=

t working with the LDF as a unified team.

  I may be censored for exposing this behind the scenes debacle. But those =

of you who make contributions deserve to know.
