Guest guest
I have had vertigo with Lyme for many years now - in fact I first went to an ENT doc because of the vertigo & luckily came up positive for Lyme. I have had 3 spells when the room actually spins; otherwise there are degrees of vertigo and I am very dependent upon my eyes to keep my balance, so if something moves in my sight, I start to lose my balance. I do not drive any distance & avoid the highway. The bed spins every night, the floor & furniture move under me - that's how it feels. I have a prescription for Antivert, BUT you can buy Bonine right next to the dramamine & Bonine has the exact same ingredients as Antivert - but take one half of a Bonine. I take mine spread out 3 times a day. On a good day I forget to take the afternoon one; on a bad day I am counting the hours. My LLMD said that Antivert (Meclizine) can make you ataxic if you take too much too often; the pharmacist said he has folks who take it all the time. My prescription is for HALF of what a Bonine has in one pill. Hope this helps. My vertigo has improved - I no longer act like a drunk! But it is still there, day after day, and I think I would call it my worst symptom. I am a single mom of 2, one with ADHD and one with Autism - somehow we all learn to cope with these symptoms, although room spinning is beyond my powers of concentration/coping!
