Guest guest
Hi Jim, I had that problem through-out my battle with lyme. It too would move around my mouth, but would be concentrated more on one side. It is all nerve related..........its a great place for those little buggers to hide. There is probably nothing wrong with your teeth...My Dentist told me the same thing. I stopped going to the dentist for awhile........because it was always worse after going. It would take a week for my mouth to quiet down after a cleaning. When my mouth would act up, I would slowly swish warm water around in it........sometimes that would work. It would calm the nerves. Sometimes a warm heating pad did the trick. Sometimes when it was really bad, I would take Vioxx, and it would quiet down in about 20-30 minutes. I also used Vioxx when I had numbness and tingling in my extremities, always would work within a short time. Try to stay away from the dentist, until your mouth quiets down............I returned this summer for a cleaning.........I'm in remission now, I had absolutely no teeth pain, and no pain after the cleaning. Hang in there, return to the dentist when you feel your mouth has been quiet for a few months. Connie nwnj
Guest guest
JIm, I don't have Lymes, but Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever. Been tested for the other and I am getting better on the antibiotic. Been on it for over a 1 1/2 yrs and slowly getting better. They say I had it chronically for several yrs. Yes, I had green in my sinuses and my teeth, gums, jaw will go thru sporatic pain. Mine comes and goes and has gotten less over time. [ ] Anyone Else With Toothaches/Sensitivity? Hi, I have had problems with achiness/sensitivity in my teeth that sort of moves around from quadrant to quadrant in my mouth. It is worst on the right side of my mouth where I recently had fillings replaced making it difficult to chew on that side, but the other side gets a little achey as well. I actually have some more filling replacements scheduled for the left side, but may forego them for now fearing that I will also lose the ability to chew on either side! My dentist is excellent and after checking and re-checking assures me that the dental work is fine and that he can find nothing wrong with the teeth, roots, or nerves. I have begun using a sensitive tooth toothpaste, but have yet to see any improvement. I thought it was " just me " until I came across the following item from the Academy of General Dentistry linking Lyme to exactly such problems: http://www.agd.org/consumer/media/february01/lyme.html. (I assume this has to do with Lyme causing damage/inflammation in the nerve.) Questions: 1) Has anyone else had a similarly recalcitrant toothache/tooth sensitivity problem with their Lyme? 2) More importantly, has anyone found a way to make it go away or at least improve the situation? With all of my other ongoing problems of chronic illness, not being able to chew well, the constant toothache/sensitivity, and the inability to withstand dental work withoutinflaming another tooth to ache has become a major downer. I would appreciate any helpful suggestions anyone has. Thanks, Jim
