Guest guest
This might be a dumb question but can you have babesiosis and erlichiosis and not have borrelia? Just curious. I have been tested a couple of times and come back negative on the western blot. I only have band 41. I have CFIDS, fibromyalgia and history of rheumatoid arthritis as a child. I am on Ceftin and feel like crap. The antibiotics definetly make me feel worse. I just have no idea why I am not coming up Lyme Positive. I am very frustrated and wonder what I really have. Guest guest
I had tests done through MDL. Fwiw, a PCR came back positive for Babesia and nothing else. Not one single band showed for the WB. However, my LLMD fully believes that I do have LD and is treating accordingly. Since Babesia is a tick-borne disease, the odds are incredible that a person could get Babesia and not Lyme itself. Guest guest
Hi, It is my understanding that you can be infected with other tick borne illnesses without having lyme disease. Have you had a PCR done for Lyme? This seems to be more reliable. Guest guest
galsal, I have neg. western blots + lyme elisa. The only thing that came out positive was the lyme + babesia pcr's. But my dr. (dr. h in ny.)says that you need 5 pcr's done(each for lyme and babesia) because the test doesn't capture the dna of the organisim every time. Have you had 5 of each done?....if not try that. I was hospitalized and given Iv antibiotics for something other than lyme shortly after I was bit and that possibly aborted my immune response. But not having antibodies is not unheard of.... best of luck sandy >From: galsal@... >Reply- > >Subject: [ ] Re: Babesiosis or erlichiosis >Date: Wed, 23 May 2001 11:31:05 -0000 > >I had tests done through MDL. Guest guest
Thanks Sheila! is doing better. He's off the Paxil and now is on Zoloft and Luvox 50. Yesterday was the first day of the new meds and he didn't have the obsessive thoughts or hear the voices. Sal > > Hi Sal, Just got a bill from Medical Diagnostic Lab in NJ.
