Guest guest
Jeeze, I don't know Eve. My doc gave me flurbiprofen as an anti-inflamitory. I know one of the side effects is swelling. I know as a general rule your feet swell as the day goes by. Maybe you had Lyme longer than you know? Ice works for me. mmx [ ] ANKLE swelling > Can you tell me anything about this one ankle on my left foot swelling, > it happens by mid day, and goes back down to normal after I go to bed at > night and reawake the next day! > Anyone had this before? > Eve alldat@... Guest guest
Have a Neurologist do some nerve testing on your feet............it will show if you have damage in your back that is causing this swelling............ Let me preface this by writing that before the health problems I experience months ago I never had swelling of the ankles or anything else. Then, when I first joined the list and prior to beginning iodine my ankles began swelling. Alobar suggested I might be sitting too long in one position (at the computer for example) and this turned out to be true. When I stopped doing that (at the time) and if I walked around the swelling stayed down but it did not go away completely until I started using iodine. I do not know if for you it could be a detox symptom. This is my experience only. Guest guest
my ankles also got swollen for a while. I just added more seasalt and it helped. I wouldn't freak out over these symptoms. Gracia My ankles are puffy and swollen and I am wondering if this is a detox symptom from taking Lugol's. I began taking it about 12 days ago, starting with one drop and increasing by one drop daily. I began to feel more clear-headed, energetic and positive even with just one drop and the only detox symptoms I noticed until today were mild headaches. This morning was my fourth day on eight drops (50 mg) and today my ankles have been swollen. They are squishy when I press on them and the imprint from my finger stays in the flesh for a while. My ankles have never been like this before, so I am concerned and a little freaked out. Is this a common detox symptom? How long does it last for other people? Should I stop the Lugol's for a day or so or keep going and ride it out? I know about the buffered C powder and plan to get some.Any words of wisdom and advice would be appreciated! Thanks,Marie No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.12.2/442 - Release Date: 9/8/2006 No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
I wouldn't worry too much about your ankles, but they are probably an indicator of something. Detox is a definite possibility. And since iodine can detox, that seems possible. My ankles frequently swell, so I am always trying to figure out why. For me, mine started swelling this time after I REDUCED the iodine from 100 mg back to 12.5 mg. When I reduced the iodine, I tended to get constipated (after a month of mild diarrhea while on the 100 mg). So that reduced elimination, which may have led to a toxic buildup. To facilitate elimination is a good idea. Lots of water, Vitamin C, and Magnesium. If you think it may be a bromide detox, add unrefined salt. Ankle swelling is also associated with sitting, standing, hypothyroid, low cortisol, salt (either too much or too little, depending on the person's condition). Good to put your feet up at least twice a day (higher than your heart is best). Let us know what you discover. Guest guest
Marie - I want to make sure I understand what you said.....Are you now taking 12 drops of Lugol's per day? I don't know much about iodine yet but I only take 3 drops of iodine a day and after a couple of weeks I had some joint pain. I went away after a couple of weeks but 12 drops seems like a lot to me. Anyone else have some ideas? Terry
