Guest guest
Hi,Just wanted to assure everyone that my concern about non-inclusive language was from reading angry posts on other lists. Those groups, if they also have a vigil, may want to consider what will best work in this regard. does not seem to have this issue as far as I know and is a very cohesive group. I haven't wanted to write to Marta about this, because I don't want her to have to use her hands. I would think however that each group would post in accordance to what has worked for them in the past and that that would guide its members. I certainly have never seen anything on in the couple of weeks that I have been subscribed that would cause me the remotest hesitation. Anyway, this is not for me to decide; I am a total newcomer. Thanks. Cheryl
Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I am here, my hands hurt but not as bad as earlier. I am keeping my typing down to a minimum when able. I am pretty sure that the group understands that the blessings, or quotes you are posting (they all can too) are to inspire those who will be fighting for us in Washington DC, sort of like prayers, too. We do have a prayer list too and time we are to pray, but haven't noticed that posted about lately. All of us have problems right now in our lives other than LD, (thank God poor little n is home from the hospital and getting well and last I heard Sasha is eating well, my Dad is doing OK) but right now we have to try to put those other problems on the back burner and for the next few days think positive thoughts for those who will represent us in our rally and march on Washington, DC. I decided not to go myself, and I am sorry but not feeling well enough to make it. I know what an effort it will be for all who do attend while so ill, and I appreciate them all. I hope there is a decent turnout and prayers and blessings and this e-vigil may turn the tide. Thanks for this great idea Cheryl, you are a very welcome addition to our group, I am so happy I convinced you to join us. I'm especially glad to know that you have a prayer list because I know that Lovey has specifically requested prayers for MOW. In fact, her post on lymediseaseaudio.com to that effect was what gave me the idea of an e-vigil. First I thought of an audio-linked vigil and then the lists/groups. But now I understand that you have had a long-term vigil going all along. That is wonderful! I am having some trouble right now being able to find words to express myself, so I have been posting other people's thoughts. Fortunately I have a few books available to draw upon. No doubt in my ignorance I will choose some passages that are less than appropriate. Please forgive me for not knowing the complexities of the situation. I am also limited in my choice of quotations because most of my books are still in boxes following a move and I can't get to them right now. Also, not having much experience with rallies and such, I don't have a ready supply of appropriate prayers, so please help me. My idea for the vigil was just to have us send everyone in the Lyme Community and especially those going to MOW " good thoughts. " That can take any form: prayers, poems, stories, quotations- whatever expresses what you want to express. As I said, I am not at my best right now and am limited in the posts that I can offer. I am just trying to keep in mind what Thoreau said: " The woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang the best.
