Guest guest
I am curious what others here with mercury toxic kids (or selves) think of Liz's suggestion/idea that a lack of empathy may be a symptom of mercury toxicity? This fits some of my own firsthand observations, but having read of some kids diagnosed with autism who have very strong empathy for others, I have wondered whether lack of empathy or reduced empathy is, or is not, a common symptom of mercury toxicity. Is it a matter of mercury toxicity causing different symptoms in different people, or is the situation that not all kids diagnosed with autism are mercury toxic? The article linked below discusses a study that suggests college students today having less empathy than college students 20 years ago. Anyone think there is a mercury toxicity connection, or not? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/30/AR2010053003084.\ html Just wondering what folks on this board have observed and think about the relationship, if any, between mercury toxicity and empathy.
