Guest guest
Hello All, I am the mom of a fabulous little 4.5 y/o girl diagnosed with Autism at a little over 2 y/o. We were doing numerous treatments the last two years and she responded perfectly. So well she started causing question to the clinicians of her diagnosis, of course b/c in traditional medicine autism is not treatable. She's your typical ASD child, vaccine injured (actually written in her ER file), OVER-vaccinated (she received 5 hep-B shots before 18 months of age b/c the doctor " made a mistake " ), severe GI inflammation (dx'd with EGID at 4 weeks of life), and hypotonic. I have numerous amalgam fillings and had a flu shot while pregnant. In addition, we live near a dental mercury manufacturing plant and while pregnant near a coal plant. She is near age appropriate in all skills and her IQ is very high. However, in the last 2 weeks I believe her yeast has come back and now she's been struck by the sackievirus AGAIN. SHe was hospitalized at 9 months from the same virus. It's been HELL. Complete behavior regression of over a years work in a matter of two weeks! No joke. If you even try to talk to her she cries, screams, or talks back (even when it would be in her favor)! It's brought me back to biomedical and I obviously began her diflucan again to help control the yeast. However, we've been prepping her for a year to do chelation and I've always had this fear. She was removed off of most supplements b/c her levels were actually elevated. She remained on Vit. D, due to a severe deficiency and zinc. I cannot even give her a multi b/c her calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus are always elevated and it worsens with a multi supplement. We tried Zovirax, but she didn't respond. I cannot afford Valtrex, so that has been delayed for now. Anyways, I think it's time to chelate, but I want to find out as much as I can first. I am really leaning towards the DSMA with addition of ALA after some time, using the Cutler protocol. 1. Does insurance or Medi-Cal cover a DSMA script or is it more cost effective to purchase online? 2. Does chelation ever help with viral overload? 3. Is it safe to do other maintenance treatment, like diflucan or valtrex, during chelation? 4. What are some good supportive supplements. 5. What did you do with your child to prep him/her for chelation and how did you know they were ready? 6. What are some of the adverse reactions you have had from chelation, if any? 7. Is it productive to even do a metals test prior to any chelation or wait until after the first challenge? 8. Can DSMA and ALA be administered parenterally (through g-tube)? She will not accept any medication orally, even if mixed in foods (she will detect it and go on a strike of everything). 9. How often are should blood test be done? I realize the above are all questions I can also ask her DAN! doctor, but she charges by the fifteen minutes and, well, you know if you can do the work beforehand it always saves money to pay for the actual treatments! I'll probably have a million more questions for the group, but I appreciate the support and guidance in advance. I just want to be armed with knowledge before getting into chelation.
