Guest guest
" What do I do next? " I would stop chelating for now and get some of the yeast stuff that we have seen people have success with on this list: Candex, Candidaise, Coconut oil, young coconut kefir, cultured vegetables (sauerkraut, etc.), oil of oregano, olive leaf extract, biotin. Things to take into consideration: GSE is high in phenols. When I chelate myself and get yeasty, I have trouble tolerating phenols and salicylates. Prescription antifungals often contain added ingredients, believe it or not: artificial colors, flavors, MSG, all kinds of yuck. Timing is important. This is what I think works from what I have read and tried: small amounts of biotin in chelators, probiotics after meals and before bed, Candex/Candidaise on empty stomach (with night dose is good), cultured vegetables and/or kefir often as you can. My son also responded well to Amla (an antioxidant like Vit C that is also antifungal/antimicrobial) Let his gut settle down a bit, this sounds a lot like intolerance of ingredients of something you gave him, so the worst thing to do would be to give him more new stuff. I would at least take a weekend off before the next round. There were many times when I just stopped supplements because my son did this and he improved. (The problem supps for us were: synthetic B vitamins, amino acids his body didn't need, artificial color in prescription antifungal, GSE, supps with soy in them, some forms of zinc, curcumin/turmeric.) Things I would NOT suspect that you can prob continue without problems are: milk thistle, magnesium, Vit C (ascorbate), cod liver oil. I use Dailyfoods Megafoods Vit B complex and Selenium/E; grapeseed oil for extra Vit E, coconut oil, liquid ionic zinc (easily assimilated), Solgar Vit A from fish oil 10000 IU and NOW Vit D liquid. For sensitive kids, I think those work quite well. > > For the past 6 months my 3 yr old son has been aggressive and stimmy on and off. We have done yeast control with nizoral and other prescriptions, GSE and his yeast morphs in 2 weeks or less. He also had a bacterial infection and we used vancomyacin. > > We started chelation 2 weeks ago with 5 mg ala and he is 36 lbs. The first weekend went well. We saw great things the second day, then it went downhill. The second weekend was horrible. We were not on a yeast protocol, becasue gse and the scripts did not work. But now he is a complete disaster- doing things I have never seen before like hand flapping, head dragging, hitting, biting the baby, screaming, defiant, tantrumy. > > The past 2 days I started him on nizoral again and last night I started 3 culturelle at bedtime. > His stools are perfectly fine now but his behavior is still awful. > > I am wondering from your experience, is this yeast, bacteria, a virus? He is so extreme, never steady, and I have a suspicion it is PANDAS. Our dr just drew blood to check for virus load. > > Our dr said to stop chelation until we get him more stable, so we did stop this weekend. Guest guest
Just a note: phenol sensitivity may be sign of low molybdenum. Usually we get this from wheat... Anecdotal evidence leads many of us to believe that epsom salts baths ammend sulphur deficiency in detox pathway...no hard proof but many improvements here. Helps a lot with anxiety, 'toxic' feeling, and aches and pains. Check out Feingold Diet science page. So difficult to be the detective all of the time. Behavior can come from so many different sources. Best wishes, Theodora > > > > For the past 6 months my 3 yr old son has been aggressive and stimmy on and off. Guest guest
Thanks for pointing that out, molybdenum is one that I forget to take and give my chidren but I do have it. I never heard it helped with phenols. Thanks again for the tip, Liz. > > > > > > For the past 6 months my 3 yr old son has been aggressive and stimmy on and off.
