Dear - Alot of people benefit from it. I wasnt one of them but my boyfriend avoided surgery and works ten hour days as well as golfs due to the healing benefits of a chiropractor. Give it a shot. Remember that fibromyalgia might be to blame as well as degeneration. I tried a massage therapist but needless to say, that was my first and last experience. I flared for days as well. A kinder form of massage is in order. A hot shower works miracles on aching muscles. Hugs, Deborah

method (you can see it here...

http://www.total-wellness-center.net/activator.html )It wasn't manipulation but I don't know if it's good for RA either.Couldn't manipulation aggravate RA?My massage therapist just beat me to a pulp on Th and the flare since and the pain hasbeen unbearable. Needless to say he knows nothing of RA. I guess brutalmassage might not be so good for us even tho I used to love it :)

Ardeith writes: You don't want to take damaged joints and twist them around

too much.....gentle massage would probably be better for you. I have what I

call " barnacles " on most of my spine......my doc says they are bone spurs or

something. Anyway.....a chiropractor said she would not work on me because

she felt there was too much chance of breaking off bits of the " barnacles, "

or spurs, which could possibly get into my blood stream and cause

problems......gentle massage was all she would do......which felt wonderful

and didn't hurt later.

I dream of having a hot-tub with massaging jets of water....

I have been going to chiropractors since

’85 and the same practice for 13 years. When the practice was sold, the

old doc overlapped for 2 months to be sure that the new one knew all the

patents. I don’t know if I would be able to walk must less work full

time without my bimonthly adjustment. The doc is very careful of me and he was

the one to get me on bio-freeze (better than mineral ice) and fish oils for my

joints. You just have to talk to other people and get recommendations on good

doctors and then ask questions to be sure s/he knows about RA and its effects

on the body.

Have a great day,

Well I saw him yesterday. It wasn't as good as I thought I am still

in pain today. BUT he did crack my back some and it felt better. My

joints are also overextended meaning they go beyond the normal points

when bent or turned. This causes me to put extra strain on them and

cause more pain and aggrevates my RA.

Fun FUn :)

If the Chiro. doesn't work try a physical therapist. They move the joints but also give you exercises to hold the joints in place. They also treat the muscles and tendon that you may be stressing from over use due to the RA. You only see them a few weeks compared to a lifetime of chiro.
