Guest guest
Some facts that people, including Drs often forget about. 1) You can't easily see all ticks, some are so small that several can fit on the period at the end of this sentence. 2) A great number of Lyme infected people **never** saw the tick, and only 25% have the rash. 3) A negative test does not mean you dont have Lyme. 4) Ticks are not the only carriers of Lyme, greenhead flies + fleas are other known carriers. 5) you do not need to be a hiker to be in contact with ticks. They did a tick-pull from a ladies yard on Long Island, they found many many more ticks in her walk from the drive to the house, than in her back yard. And they have found Bb-carrying ticks in Central Park NYC. Its good to have my mind back!!! Dr told me starting neurontin would be rough, but I sure didnt expect it to take the toll it did. I can hardly remember several days. Yuck!!!!! *-)
Guest guest
Eileen, I'm sure you know that you do not always see the tick. they are so small and can hide cause the harm and fall off. I have not seen all of mine because i cannot see my back etc. i'm sorry you have lyme..It is not a pleasant thing to have from what i can gather from this group. I wish you good luck..It was just one way as was stated by someone else in the group to maybe tell the difference between Fibro and Lyme.. Thank you for your response. Guest guest
Dear Jo-Ann, Just another way of looking at things--I have Lyme disease and I never saw a tick. I was told I had Lyme disease by a Lyme-illiterate doctor--it was too obvious and my lab test was positive. Where was my tick? Guest guest
I know for sure when I was taking Zithromax, not only did I start feeling better, but that the symptoms of fibro are much pronounced. If fibro is indeed a separate illness, then the Zithromax wouldnt have made a dent. Too bad I had to go off Zithromax last week because of severe side effects. I was feeling better than I have felt in the last six years. elizabeth
Guest guest
Hi, Joanne and others, In answer to your question (have I ever considered that I have both [fibro and lyme]?}, ironically, when my dr. told me I had lyme, I ASSUMED I had both. At our next appointment he explained that his diagnosis is that it has been Lyme all along (for 6 years). The good news for me is that he is optimistic that I can get back as much as 85 -90% of my health after the required years-long abx treatment. So, I actually felt relieved about the Lyme dx -- at least there is some hope out there that the little nasties can be killed off. I too have often shaken my head in wonder that I have (or thought I had) the two most " fashionable " and controversial diagnoses going. I long for some straightforward, easily diagnosed and treated (and accepted by insurance co.'s and SSDI) ailment, if one we have to have an ailment at all! So, you are right -- we are all in the same boat, just perhaps using different oars. Best to all, Charlotte

Guest guest
Hey Y'all, I dont agree with someone 'telling' Jo-Ann to quit this list, she has every right to be here as we do. As to who 'owns' this list, poor girl is in a catch 22, darned if she does and darned if she doesnt. And as for me, I cant grasp why I am the one being ignored by you Jo-ann, what about the many other people who said the exact same thing as I did? That does not make sense, but oh well. At least I can be happy in the fact that I know I am right, many people here and many Drs have all said the same thing. Pepi
