eGroups has " merged " with forming what is now called .

If you ONLY use this service via email, very little will actually affect

you. When you get the chance please just change the email address

to . The old email address will work fine, so no

need to panic about this change.

If you ever use the webpage to access your egroups list (and you really

should, because there are tons of neat things there) you will need to

" Convert " your eGroups account into a account. Here is how it's done:

The first time you sign into the webpage you will have to do

something called " convert your egroups account " . Start at this webpage:

local/news.html . Feel free to read this page for a

little bit of information about the merger. Then go to the bottom of the

page and click on " Convert my eGroups Account " .

You will be asked for your email address and password you use for egroups.

Then you can choose either the " I have a account " hyperlink or the " I

don't have a account " hyperlink. If you choose the " I have a

account " hyperlink you will be asked on the next page to enter your

ID and password. Once that is done, BOTH your egroups and your

accounts will be merged into ONE account. You will have a

Groups ID identical to the ID you had. (If you already have a

ID then this should all look familiar to you.)

If you click on the " I do not have a account hyperlink, you will be

given instructions on how to create a new ID for . When that

is done, your account will now be a account.

The main page for is now: .

You can find the archives here with a search feature.

The Links section is now called " Bookmarks " and can be found at:

/links .

The chat room is now at: /chat . This

should now be a reliable chat forum.

Please note, once you convert your account, you will need your ID to

access the webpage. You will no longer use your email address to sign in.

Please write this down in a safe and easily accessible place. Personally, I

prefer sticky notes stuck to my monitor for the really important things, but

you can use whatever method works best for you. =)
