Hi, my name is and I had the same problem with rheumatoid

nodules when I was diagnosed. They are gone now, but I was on a

combination of Enbrel and methotrexate for several months before they

shrank away to nothing. I had them on my ankles, wrists, elbows and

fingers. I had them for several years before my diagnosis. It was

scary to me to know that the whole time I had the nodules, I also had

RA that long.

Hi everyone! My name is Ina and I was diagnoised last year with RA

and Osteoarthritis. I have been struggling with aches, pains and

joint problems since 1995. For years my doctor kept telling me that I

was always tired because I was a single mother of 3 growing boys.

Well, it took several unnecessary surgeries and moving to a different

state to be diagnoised. The night before going to my new doctor, I

woke up at 4:00 am and wrote down every test, surgery that I had in

the past 10 years. (I had my medical records with me.) I did have a

positive ANA in 1995, but the RA at that time was negative. The test

last year was positive. I finally feel that someone is listening to

me... it is not all in my head. I have a wonderful, supportive

husband now and I have not been working for about 1 1/2, trying to get

my health taken care of. I am really glad that I found this chat, so

now I can talk with people who really have a good understanding of

what RA is like.

Have a great day!

Ina

Hi Ina,

Welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you've also had such a problem getting to the root of all your symptoms. I'm Becky, 31 and am diagnosed with somatoform disorder but suspected RA. So far all tests have come back negative. Will wait and see where it goes. I'm from England.

Luv

Becky

Exercise is key to managing RA if you ask me. I know I feel sooooo

much better when in a regular fitness routine. My body tells me when

I need to pick it up too. I'm high functioning for my condition (RA,

Lupus and OI) and I attribute that to the physical environment I put

myself in!

Good morning Becky,

I have lots of family in England. My father was from Bishop

Stortford. I have to see an orthopedic doc on Monday. I have both

RA and OA. My knees are falling apart slowly. I have had at least

seven different surgeries on my limbs. I am 44 y/o, living in

Michigan. I grew up in Wisconsin around a lot of papermills and

they are linking auto-immune disorders to that area. I have a few

relatives with MS. (though we also have a ish background and MS

is high in Scotland) Take care.
