Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm in my 11th week of abx, and am still symptom free...............however, I did run into a little complication at school. The school nurse was helping me change the dressing on my picc line...............it was so entangled with the tape, she pulled out a pair of scissors.............you guessed it............she cut the line!! To make a long story short...........I have a new picc-line...and I must say a very sore arm. I have a question for the group....those of you that were misdx with Lymphoma, did your doctor make that decision from looking at a biopsy from your lymph glands? If so which lymph gland was biopsied? Thanks so much for you responses, I have a friend who's mother definitely has Cat Scratch Disease, and is being checked for lyme (by a llmd)..........she had a biopsy done of her lymph gland in her neck...........the surgeon definitely said lymphoma...........before the biopsy was even back from the lab...........the family is very upset...............can the glands be so infected with bacteria, that it looks cancerous?? Thanks ahead of time for you replies.............Connie nwnj
Guest guest
Connie, nne again. I just saw your second e-mail. My gland was protruding out of the side of my neck. I thought I had lymphoma. It was awful looking. They did ask me if I had a cat, but never checked me for that other illness. I was told their " opinion " of lymphoma. I also was very upset, considering I have two small children. I hope all goes well with your friend nne Thanks for the welcome Connie! Guest guest
Connie, I had a hug lymph node at the edge of my breast, just after being diagnosed with Lyme. The doctor also though lymphoma, especially since my white blood count was also so low, but the biopsy came back as a " reactive lymph node " . They refused to test it for Bb, which I asked them to do. I also asked if I could have the lymph node or a piece of it, also refused. Just wanted to let you know, since then I've had several lumps, that were scary - all are just reactive lymph nodes. I can't remember where I read it, but Bb likes to hang out in lymph nodes, scar tissue, etc. So to answer your question, about it looking like lymphoma I say definitely yes - the doctor's should never jump to such drastic conclusions BEFORE the biopsy. They had me scared too death. Hope this helps. Sorry you had to go through getting another PICC line, hope all is well now. Guest guest
Connie, I've had swollen glands bigger than golf balls under my arms and around the base of my neck. My doctor always thought they were herx related and they eventually went away. Good luck, beth (SF)
